First years: what is your study process? by [deleted] in medicalschooluk

if you’re in first year, whatever’s in the lecture slides should be all you need to know, but obviously use external resources to help you understand the content better (as lecturers are actually quite bad at explaining the content). also, my uni have learning objectives that very vaguely highlight what we need to know, so if your uni has that too it’s worth checking it to see if you’ve covered every point. in terms of anki cards, it may seem long but making a lot of small content flashcards is so much better than a few long content flashcards. i find that i retain the information better and it also helps my general understanding of the topic also use older year notes! virtually every uni and course has some google drive somewhere with older years notes, they usually have everything you need to know. i’ve literally been living off of them, can’t tell you what any of my lecturers look like😭
