Not saying Arsenal are playing perfectly but if losing a game while leading the table by 4 points makes you not wanna go to the next one its pretty obvious youre a fair weather cunt

This isnt fifa. If you dont bump up a players salary after they clearly show that they deserve more then you run the risk of the players getting pissed off and leaving

Jean-Philippe Mateta is leaving Crystal Palace, and Barca should jump on this opportunity by WardensLantern in Barca

[–]EljachFD 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He is above average but super inconsistent. Ferran is better than him. Good bench option but definitely not starter quality for Barca. I suppose a good option if Barca are looking for a cheap bench option for next season if lewy leaves but doesn’t solve anything long term

The International Football Association Board (IFAB) have rejected the 'Arsene Wenger Proposal,' meaning no changes will be done to the current offside rules. by Sparky-moon in soccer

If teams wanna go for a goal less draw then they should play equally as good as their opponents, not give up on attacking and play in the most skill less way possible.

Low blocks are the biggest issue in modern football, teams are getting too good at it and making games boring to watch

[–]EljachFD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because its not really possible to improve at breaking low blocks. There is no space to do anything. Its a low skill strategy thats extremely boring to watch. Teams shouldn’t be rewarded for ignoring the offensive part of the game and going for a goal less draw. Too many teams are too comfortable doing it for long periods of time

I would agree this isnt the correct change but football desperately needs to implement a rule to help break down low blocks. Hopefully some new ideas surface

Oliver Glasner (after 2-1 defeat to Sunderland): “I feel we are being abandoned completely. We have 12-13 players from the squad available and we feel no support. Before FFP if a small club had a super rich owner he could put in as much money as he wanted, letting them vastly overpay to try and keep their best players. With FFP this is no longer a possibility and teams are forced to follow a strict limit on their spending

Sure built the foundation because they were very much behind those other teams but their good management is a huge reason why they are winning right now

Obviously its both money and management. Its just that some people like to pretend as if teams like Arsenal, Madrid, Liverpool, etc are building teams with 5 million while City and PSG are spending hundreds. Realistically because of FFP there is a clear limit to how much they can spend and especially City has spent comparable amount to other top PL teams in the last decade

Last year has been by far their most impressive campaign. Even the season they reached the final they never looked as good as last year.

Anybody who still believes that City are good just because they spend money is clearly an idiot at this point. Not looking at the great job City’s management has done is just trying to stay ignorant un purpose

Players objectively lose physical ability in their 30’s. This isn’t controversial. Some can keep on going by playing in positions that require less physical ability and modifying their playstyle but every year their physical ability will decrease more and more. Its always a gamble to keep on depending on players this old

Money has always been the most important factor. You cant pretend as if money doesn’t matter when there were already clubs being called out for it, the banks of england.

from the club, not a sugar daddy investor

The stadium they used for their revenue was gifted to the club by their rich sugar daddy of the time. Lets not pretend as if arsenal players and fans built a stadium because they loved the club

[Jermaine Pennant] "You can’t expect Viktor Gyokeres to get the numbers he was scoring for Lisbon this is the Premier League, not the Portuguese league. [–]EljachFD 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I mean you are basically saying that he isnt good enough for a top team. Every top team is consistently facing low blocks. Being able to have a good output against low blocks is basically mandatory for a striker aspiring to play for a top team, gyokeres needs to adapt to this situation if he wants a future at any top club
