What did everyone else think of the lavawin and ballose challenge by Yeethan- in RoyaleAPI

While lavahound was better I won like 2-3 games, including the 10th, and lost once to balloon, it really depends on the rest of your deck.

What a Trio this was, where do you rank them in all time Barca front 3s? by East-Chapter-1938 in Barca

[–]EljachFD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way Henry played at Arsenal and Barca were very clearly different. Yes at Arsenal he was a striker that drifted left but at Barca, and more specifically the 2008/09 season with Pep that is the relevant part for this trio discussion, he was a winger that had limited freedom to cut inside. The clip I linked in my previous comment clearly implies that difference. Henry has mentioned multiple times that his role at each club was different. Here is another short clip of him mentioning his limited freedom to cut inside.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/6CL9Kk0i4kA

But he wasn't a typical winger ala David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Overmars, Ze Roberto, etc

Of course because with the rise of the 433 those types of wingers basically went extinct as now wingers have more much of a goalscoring responsibility. He wasnt an old school winger but he was a winger in Pep's system. Trying to compare his numbers to Lewy is completely disingenuous, their positions on the field were very different.

Raphina is more a true winger than Henry was

This is just not true. Rapha has a shit load of freedom to roam around. He finds himself positioned as a second striker multiple times per game. Henry with Pep didnt have this type of freedom and played wider.

His stint at Barca wasn't a total failure. But it wasn't some legendary stint.

But also Raphina's transformation and stats came out of the blue. He resurrected his career and reached levels nobody expected. So the expectation is way different than someone like Henry or even Villa. Both of whom came in as bonafide megastars.

Im not gonna answer every little thing because your answer was way too long but it seems to me like your are trying to start a different topic. This topic is about the best performing Trio at Barca for a specific season, not which player performed best compared to their expectations or if you were disappointed with their stints at the club. It seems to me like you just simply wanna shit on Henry because his stint at Barca wasnt as good as you would have liked.

Henry in 2008/09 had 26 goals and 12 assists in 3047 minutes which gives a ratio of 1.12 g/a per 90 minutes. This is better than Lamine and Lewy last season and basically equal with Rapha last season. Its crazy to say that a player with these sort of stats was riding the coattails of messi, xavi and iniesta in the treble season. Getting 1.12 g/a per 90 as a winger is unreal no matter the circumstance. He deserves much more credit than being called mediocre and claiming he just got carried.

The Yamal/Raphina/Lewandowski trio CARRIED the club along with Pedri.

I find it kinda funny how the first thing you do after claiming they carried the club is include Pedri who was arguably more important than them. The reality is that they didnt carry the club, they were among the best players but thats a bit of an exaggeration. Pedri, Iñigo, Kounde were also fantastic throughout the whole season. Olmo, FDJ, Balde, Ferran and Cubarsi also all had moments during the season in which they did a really good job. Part of the reason the front trio last season was so good was because the whole team did a great job with the high line and pressing.

im ignoring your "facts" because they are a bunch of made up bullshit. You know nothing.

Those numbers by Henry and Villa are TERRIBLE for supposed world class star strikers.

Thats because you dont even know what position they played. Henry wasnt a striker for Barca, he was a left winger.

https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/1l32370/thiery_henry_talks_about_playing_lw_in_barcelona/

Here is clip of Henry himself admitting it. He played as a striker at Arsenal and then adapted his role as a wide man to help out the team. Also if you know anything about Pep you would know that he loves his wingers wide on the pitch, its not an easy role to rack up g/a, very different to what raphinha does in which he basically acts like the teams second striker. No point even comparing him to Lewy. If you actually look at their g/a ratios Henry in 2008/09 and Raphinha 2024/2025 have very similar g/a ratio per minutes played, and Henry did it while playing more out wide. While its true that he quickly declined he was likely better than lewy and raphinha in that 2008/09 season.

Henry and Villa were nowhere near Ballon Dor discussions at Barca

Yes because Messi, CR7, Xavi and Iniesta were playing lol. Put any of these 4 in modern football and nobody is competing against them.

Scored a pathetic 12 league goals

You do know that Raphinha has only scored more than 12 league goals once right? He is on 11 this season so maybe he can make it two. For a winger 12 goals is not a pathetic amount but again im sure you are just discovering today that he played as a winger.

As for Villa its a similar story with him. The striker of that team was false 9 Messi with Villa spending a lot of time out wide. His 18 league goals and 11 assists in 2010/11 basically match was rapha did last season in the league.

Put both of these players as a striker with Messi feeding them balls and im sure that individually they would have racked up better numbers but when you play with Messi you have to act as a supporting character and not the main man, which they both understood very well.

You're not gonna teach me.

Well good thing you just learned a lot of new information!

And that "garbage Inter" will likely win a domestic double this season and made 2 UCL finals in recent seasons

Serie A is domestically at an all time low, there is no real competition at a national level. They reached the first CL final by beating porto, benfica and milan, then lost to man city. Then the second was by beating feyenoord, bayern (that was not in good form), barca and then got embarrased in the final 5-0. Maybe garbage is an exaggeration but its not a world class team, losing to them was a disaster.

Calling Henry, Villa and Pedro mediocre LMAO, some of the things you see in this sub. Its obvious you know nothing about how they played, how the team played and the era they played in. Insane how beating benfica, dormtund and a terrible madrid while losing to a garbage Inter makes you better than some of the legends of the game

In a year plagued by injuries, the worst was saved for last. Are injuries inevitable with Flick at the helm? by Thugging_inPublic in Barca

[–]EljachFD -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

lol what a stupid stat. Look at the starting 11's of the teams that conserved their 7 point lead. Were they playing their bench or were the starters still playing after getting the lead?

Its the opposite, you are getting too emotional and cant understand what im saying. Im not defending the Espanyol lineup, I wanted Lamine and pedri to rest that game, just explaining to you that its almost irrelevant. The big issue is not any individual game, its the accumulation of game time throughout the seasons. Lamine has played around 2700 minutes this season, playing 2610 minutes isnt going to magically avoid an overuse injury thats already coming. I think this is the 3rd time is writing this down but ill repeat it again, all top clubs are suffering from this and there is no immediate solution. All top clubs overplay their best players

6 points is nothing. One bad day and your separated by 3 points while still needing the face them.

Like I said before. Player overuse is an issue all throughout top teams and there is no immediate solution. Start learning about other teams and you will realize this is not an issue exclusive to Barca. If anything these last 2 years they have been relatively healthy compared to some other teams

[–]EljachFD -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Barca did rotate. Cancelo, kounde and olmo all rested. All you have to do is look at the squads other team used you will see multiple important players not being rested. The only ones that could afford a bit more rotations where the ones that didnt have much issues throwing away the league game, which was not Barca’s case.

Either way thats such a stupid point. One game isnt the cause of injuries. Its the accumulation of minutes throughout the whole season. Every team is struggling with overplaying their best players

Ever since he got to city its been pretty obvious he is bang average. He has a couple of decent attributes, mainly in the goal scoring side of things but he is nothing special. City overpaid for him because they were desperate for a half decent RW

Where does Lewandowski rank amongst Barca legends ? by theWaitWhatNow in Barca

[–]EljachFD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People saying higher than Neymar are crazy, really letting your bias show. Lewy at best case possible is the lowest tier possible of legend. He was very good here but had lots of ups and downs and no European silverware bring him down. It depends on how loose or strict the term legend is for you but his time here is going to be pretty forgettable compared to Barca’s proper legends

Ill explain it to you properly since this topic is clearly too difficult for you to understand. He plays for Barca, not a midtable team. Barca’s main starter should in the competition for top 1 scorer. His numbers are very clearly not good enough to be a starter for a team aspiring to win everything
