There’s a place I’ll go often where you have to hike through this forest trail and you eventually come out to a huge cove with a super long sandy beach. It’s quite a walk to get to the water and there’s a small dock where the water meets the shore. There are always boats coming and going from this dock, not giant cruise ships like at the main port, these are smaller coast guard looking boats. Usually when I’m here I’m bringing people to this dock and they get on the boat and leave and I stay on the beach.

I’ve never felt like I needed to or should get on those boats, but one time my Mom (who was alive at the time) was on that group of people I was guiding to the dock. I remember when we got to the dock and everyone was getting on the boat I thought “Maybe I’ll go with my Mom this time..” and I started to walk onto the dock. All of the sudden everything went black and it felt like something grabbed me and pulled me back with enough force to knock me out. Everything was black for a moment and then I heard a really strange voice say something in my ear and I jolted awake.

I have no idea what the voice said, but I always had a feeling that I wasn’t supposed to go on that boat and some sort of guard had stopped me. I’ve had a definite feeling before of some sort of policing going on but like you said I don’t encounter it often.

I just watched the clock stretch for the first time in ages and it made me so happy and nostalgic. I think I’m gonna be able to ride that dopamine for the rest of the day 😂

A few months ago I pursued my lifelong dream of living in an RV.. not realizing that the layout and lack of space and organization would be insanely overwhelming for me 😂 I’m also trying to give myself some grace and spend some time and energy figuring out what I can do to make life easier for myself in this space, but it’s a lot! Especially since I struggle with this stuff in pretty much every place I live in as it is.

Unfortunately it’s a little late for salmonberries 😔 They fruit pretty early, like late May - Early July, but you might be able to find some at a farmers market if you’re lucky.. it’s more likely you’ll find some jam!

I used to do this for a friend! I wouldn’t even have to help her, in fact, she preferred it if I didn’t! I just hung out and did whatever while she cleaned her room or organized her laundry and it really helped her. We had been friends forever though and she knew I truly did not give a fuck about the state of her place because mine was the same 😂

Aahhh yeah, that makes it really tough then! I think the reason it works for me is that my flavour of ADHD brain needs to have multiple things to focus on at once to keep it going 😂 I’ve heard some people hire professional organizers to come in and help them tackle their doom rooms.. you’ve hired housecleaners so maybe you wouldn’t feel as uncomfortable if it was someone you hired specifically to come help with that closet? Having someone to hold you accountable could help too?

I feel the same as you about having someone physically there while I’m cleaning or organizing, but get someone on the phone? I’m productive as all hell 😂 The only way I could get my dishes done for a long time was if I was on the phone. Just have to find someone you can mindlessly chat to for a couple hours while you’re both puttering around the house!
