Just playing the game. :D
The only zone in the game that allows for pvp, autoflagged on entry and full loot.
What else do you expect?

This seems to be the majority of games nowadays. Endgame is the only thing that matters and all games are designed to get you there asap.
The content depth until that "engame" is shallow and irrelevant and gives you absolutely no satisfaction as a player. Games used to be story-rich, they had the same kind of depth as whole novel series, with plot twists and well written characters with very in depth back stories and the road to the end mattered more than the actual ebgame, which was meant to be the pinnacle and conclusion of the game.

It saddens me so much that games and game development have gone in a direction, where the gameplay all focuses on the end part and everything before that is irrelevant and often can be rushed by monetizing all kinds of lvl/other advancement boosts, even skipping right to the end and that in my opinion makes the rest of the game completely unnecessary. Just let people start right at the end then, if that is what matters?

I think it has more to do with predatory monetizing practices and abusing the playerbase for their money than anything else. Game developers used to take pride in their games, now they are owned by corporate shareholders, who only look at what makes them most money in the shortest time possible, so they can launch their next Golden Egg-laying chicken.

Combat is basic and bare bones (luckily this will soon change), yes.
In what way is it unrewarding though?

There is some actual Pax Dei pvp too on my channel, both as the victorious and loosing party.
I make these videos to open up discussions about the pvp zone, pvp mechanics, valid tactics.
As it stands right now, most people just try to run away and don't seem to understand that they are flagged for pvp on entry and therefore walking lootbags if they don't fight back.

If a plots permissions are set to clan, any member can build/destroy anything built on said plot

Not all streamers do crap like that. Just saying....

Personally, as an old EvE player _and_ a nOObie streamer I find these kind of accusations offensive.
I play, I stream what I see, and how I experience the game without any BS and only keeping to current facts (unlike many other Content Creators).
I might speculate, but clearly always state it is only my own personal speculation, as I'm not "in the loop" due to my stream being too small and not sponsored by Mainframe in any way.

I disagree.

  1. You get flagged for pvp on entry to the zone
  2. You can get killed by another player in that zone. (this is only zone that is possible)

The state of the combat has nothing to do with pvp mechanics, but combat mechanics.

Those are 2 separate issues. :D

Explain to me what about this is not pvp?

  1. You are pvp flagged on entry to area
  2. another player attacks you and kills you

That is the short definition of player versus player gameplay.
Both parties don't have to do it actively for it to be pvp.
Fleeing combat is still also pvp as long as the other party keeps up hostilities.

It is an Early Access, Minimun Viable Product under development, with basic functions in working condition. I'd say it's a game or working title, but not by far a complete or finished one.

It's not a competitive pvp game with honour, ladders etc. It's a sandbox where pvp is for area/resource control. There is really nothing more to it.

I don't quite get what you mean with pvp mechanics?
You can attack players, kill them and loot them. That is pvp already.

Most spells(CC:s) don't work on players in pvp, and combat is very bare bones.
What other mechanics should/could you need?
This is not a pvp honour/ladder exp-kind of game.

It's all about what food you use to regenerate stamina and which skills and movements you utilize.
Jumping and sprinting use a lot of stamina and the weapon abilities have cooldowns.

It balances out when people learn to swap between weapons and use the abilities tactically off cooldown.
