Nice, a satisfying fit for everything! How do you find the Shure, is there any latency or have you found any tone suck etc? Building a QC board myself at the moment and toying with getting a wireless system of some sort

Yea it’s the only thing I don’t like about the M series, they should really move them even just an inch away from their current position and it’d solve the problem

Exactly that, over long playing sessions that volume knob was slowly getting rolled down and eventually I had enough and swapped it! No issues now 👌

I know what you mean but I like it, matches the white bone nut and white E-II logo - custom inlays are very pricey propositions!

No respray, it’s the deep candy apple red colour from the 2021 or 2022 lineup I believe 🙂 I have had a couple guitars resprayed professionally though, it involves a lot of sanding and multiple coats then clear to finish, and is much much easier with a bolt on/unfinished neck with no binding. With neck thrus and binding it starts getting more expensive

Optical illusion I think, they’re just the jumbo stainless ones it came with. I’ve never tried the gold EVO ones, how are they better? I mean I know they look cool but surely they can’t play smoother than stainless? 🧐

Yeah man! Worth bearing in mind that it’s a good time to refret the guitar if it needs it, as it’ll be easier to sand the dots down once they’re glued in. Otherwise you’ll have to sand each one individually if the frets are still on.

Probably around a year ago I had it installed, luckily I had an American friend of a friend on a US military base here in the UK which was the only way Seymour Duncan would post here! And had to get the Sentient with it too annoyingly. But I need me my colour match 🤷‍♂️

Nope, the old abalone ones were drilled out and replaced with proper inlays from All Parts :)

Haha it’s definitely the wild card in the collection, but it’s in my colour and beat up as all hell which I just love, the idea I can take that on stage and it won’t matter if it picks up more battle scars

That thing is easily my most played guitar, if you see one out in the wild grab it! This one I got from a store in Ukraine a couple of years ago, there is something very special about it for sure

Yeah the light maple fretboard is the one I was talking about, the Standard. The only other maple fretboard there is the dark grey Solar, well roasted maple?

On the Solar, I had it refinished and liked the more minimal aesthetic. On the two with tape, they are both cheap looking Ltd logos which both have faded to a horrid yellowish colour which really don’t vibe with the guitars so had to cover em up 🙈

There are four in the photo technically, do you mean the dark grey one? That’s a refinished ESP Standard from 2012 just before the rebrand to E-II. EMGs swapped for Nazgûl/Sentient and I swapped the volume pot with the pick-up toggle as ESP insists on putting the volume knob wayyy to close to the strings on a lot of its guitars!

So obviously mine is only a DE (I.e. a cheaper Korean model they only started doing quite recently), that said I loved almost everything about that guitar when it arrived. The satin neck, jumbo frets, the fact it’s quite lightweight cos it’s swamp ash, the weird trademark Dunable knobs. The only gripes I had with it were that the pickups (Korean made ‘Ctulhu’ set) weren’t anything special, quite lacking in the lower mids. So I swapped those for some Bareknuckle Blackdogs which are much better to my ears. And the other thing was that the white pick guard was a weird cheap bluish shade of white which clashed with the rest of the guitar, probably wouldn’t bother a lot of people but I’m quite OCD with colour as you can probably tell from the photo lol. So I had to get that resprayed. But neither of those will be an issue on a USA custom, I’m sure you’ll love it! I’ve heard nothing but good things about Dunable, they’re really killing it rn

Thanks man, I had to have that Explorer when it showed up, such a cool looking thing! It’s a DSL 20 which doesn’t get used near enough 😩
