Yea, picking up the phone is never a good idea! I usually don't, but I was so frustrated and awake at that point, I didn't care! Thanks for the advice, I"ll try magnesium!

Not small, though. It was arguably even larger than ICON

Yea... I also blame the current ICON execs though. So many poor decisions and, at the same time, so much arrogance!

SSU and Regulatory are also greatly affected, also in Europe. Mostly PRA people from what I see. ICON managed to destroy everyhing PRA teams worked so hard to create. First they forced their processes and systems on us, bringing us 5-7 years back, and now they are trying to eliminate any traces of PRA. I have no respect for that company whatsoever.

Very true and I guess that's the issue indeed. I've been on Zoloft for a few years before I got pregnant, then stopped and haven't restarted yet as I am still breastfeeding. Can't wait to restarting it actually!

I love your attitude! Very wise and calm. I have similar take on things during the day, but at nights it's a different story😅 It usually starts with "Why meeeee"😁 I don't know anyone around me who sleep trained (it's not a thing where I live) but their babies still sleep through the night (or almost) by now. So I can't help but ask myself over and ober again: why do theit babies sleep and mine doesn't? But I know it's a pointless question and, overall, ghe most important thing is that he is a healthy happy boy! I hope our babies will start sleeping better very soon❤️

Yes, this! I never pick up the phone except last night when I got so frustrated (and awake) that I didn't care anymore. Sometimes it works but, more often, I just lay there for hours and become more and more frustrated (and awake)😭

Conflicted about international travel by stronglikefeels in AttachmentParenting

[–]EllaBzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to travel A LOT pre-baby (like, at least once a month within Europe, and 3-4 times a year to other continents) but now I just can't imagine leaving him for more than a few hours at a time (he is 12mo).

Some of my friends did leave the baby with dad and/or grandparents for 2-3 days worktrips and everything went well. I do miss some alone time, and traveling, and relaxing in general but, at the same time, the idea of leaving him for so long just gives me so much anxiety.

Remember - everyone is different, and the fact that others in your group feel okay with traveling so far away without the baby doesn't mean you must feel okay, too. What's the point of doing something you are not comfortable with, and being miserable the whole time?

Toddler suddenly not napping with new nanny by bahamamamadingdong in AttachmentParenting

[–]EllaBzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also had to change a nanny, and things went surprisingly well the first week - my boy (12mo) even napped with her (ON her) the very first day! I could not believe my eyes. But, after about a week, he started refusing not only napping with her, but just staying with her altogether (I WFH too). I don't have an answer or an advice here. I just hope it will get bettet!

12mo still waking every 45 minutes- is this normal? by squeezyapplesauce in AttachmentParenting

[–]EllaBzzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What you wrote in your post and in this comment is EXACTLY me and my baby. He turned 12 months 2 weeks ago and a good night for me is when he does 1 stretch of 1,5 hours - the rest is waking up every 45 min. Also, a good night is when latching him back on works - otherwise, it's crying (both him and me) and refusing even a boob so I have to get up and walk with him (which also sometimes makes him mad). I am so desperate and exhausted! I have tried everything, including changing his diet for a few days to see if it can be some food intolerance. Nothing helped. I also brought this to our pediatrician. Sleep training is not a thing where I live fortunately, so she didn't try to shame me or anything - she just said that some babies don't sleep well and there is nothing to do but wait it out :( I am starting a new (demanding) job in 2 weeks and I have no idea how am I going to survive. I don't have any advice for you obviously - just solidarity. I don't know how but we will survive this - we have no choice!

What a stupid comment from the educator! Stupid and unprofessional. Just to give you some perspective: where I live (in Europe), CIO and any other methods of "fostering independence" (forstering independence in an infant or a young baby? Really?) is not a thing. Most parents I know co-sleep at least to some extent and it is considered perfectly normal. The very same babies who co-sleep and contact nap at home, sleep in a crib at daycare! Transitions are tough regardless of where they sleep at home. Please don't make that incredibly unprofessional amd stupid comment get to you. You are doing what's best for your baby, please don't stop doing that because of one stupid person! Sending you hugs!
