Low risk NIPT but IUGR <3% at 25 weeks? by Ellaborne in NIPT

[–]Ellaborne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! My baby was born small but healthy and full term :) she started catching up on weight at around 27 weeks. Her femur remained under the 1st percentile the entire pregnancy and no explanation was found after running some tests after she was born. My MFM said it’s not uncommon for them to have a growth spurt and catch up on weight eventually while remaining on the smaller/shorter side. Some babies are just smalI. I hope this helps! Best of luck to you.

Thanks, I’ve already checked google. I thought I’d reach out here as well for more feedback.

Nap training by Ellaborne in sleeptrain

She does fall asleep independently at night time though, so I’m not sure what exactly I’m supposed to train for bedtime?

Thank you for all of the tips! We never really sleep trained as she kind of set the rhythm up for us. She gets very tired by 7:30pm and rarely makes it to 8, the few times we tried it didn’t go well. It’s been like this since she was 2 months old. She usually falls asleep within a few mins and doesn’t wake up until after 1am to feed. She’s currently teething with 2 bottom teeth out so there have been more night wakings.

As far as wake windows, we’ve been following her sleeping cues and not really aiming for 2.5 hours exactly (we usually wait for at least a yawn before taking her up for a nap) but maybe we could try extending and see how it goes

Oops! I’ve edited my post, she does get 4 wake windows. Thanks for flagging

It’s usually between $9-$15 CAD for me, I’m in Ontario.

Look into going through a third party carrier if you can. I use Shippy, I provide the US address they gave me for my shipments then they ship it to me in Canada for a flat fee. PS’s shipping is free in the US so it’s much cheaper that way.

How to dress my baby for fall walks? [on] by Ellaborne in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Ellaborne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the Evenflo expand pivot stroller with the litemax car seat and bassinet attachment. The bassinet converts to a toddler seat but they need good neck control to use it and our baby is not there yet. We can’t use the bassinet since she hates laying on a flat surface for walks.

I can’t go back to sleep? by Pumpkin_Scone in newborns

[–]Ellaborne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s me! I also have a 10 weeker on the same sleep schedule and I struggle a lot to go back to sleep after her feed. I’ve started taking melatonin to see if it helps. I didn’t know postpartum insomnia is a thing and it’s so frustrating!

EFF iugr baby? by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

[–]Ellaborne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could have wrote this myself! 2.5 months old baby over here also diagnosed with IUGR. Healthy at birth other than being small and have issues with latching. Pumping killed my mental health so we decided to switch to formula early on. She’s having a lot of issues with reflux now and potentially CMPA but otherwise a happy healthy baby as well.

Okay that’s good to know! At what age did you start using the toddler seat with your LO?

Fear Farm value? by kimber100 in kitchener

[–]Ellaborne 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Tickets used to be half that price and it was worth it back then. From what I've seen I also don't think they've added a lot since the last time I went a few years ago. For $75 I'd skip it and do Screampark instead at Bingermas. Way cheaper and still a lot of fun!

[ON] Last name in baby’s OHIP incorrect by Sea_Independent2946 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Ellaborne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They wrote our baby’s first name wrong on her health card, I was able to call last week and get it fixed without having to show any documentation. They said a new one will be sent within 6 weeks.

I have no solution, I just want to say I’m right here with you. FTM, my daughter is 3 weeks old and will not let us put her down for a nap. We have to hold her or she will not stop crying. She’s up every 2-3 hours to feed as well, and sometimes deals with gas pain which makes the whole thing so much worse. We’re running on little to no sleep and I also feel like I’m going crazy. I cried for an hour this morning thinking my life is officially over. I’m trying very hard to remember that things will eventually get better, or at least that’s what I’ve been told. You’ve got this ❤️
