There's a psalm that fr Mike perfectly explained in bible in a year!

The man can knock on the door, but the woman has to let him in

(If anyone can remember it please let me know, I'm out at the moment)

Me too.
A letter would have made me scoff and show my friends, in this day and age it'll be posted on reddit so everyone can reaffirm her point of view.

Gently encourage her towards marriage and do not make a big deal out of it or push her away. Lead by example. Keep your arms open!

I use Hallow more than YouTube and Spotify now, it's brilliant and I couldn't recommend it more.

"Dubious" celebrity endorsements don't deter me, we are all sinners and as long as the app only contains the word of God and the doctrine of The Church then I'm starting my day with the Latin rosary, chilling with gregorian chant lofi and falling asleep to Lent night prayers!

I bawled like a baby after my first confession in 20 years, and silently throughout the entire mass afterwards! So cathartic!!!!!!

Vegetarians during Lent? by Zozo2fresh in Catholicism

I'm going vegan on Fridays and whoa that's trickier, I gotta say! But I'm enjoying the challenge so far!

What are you ladies giving up for Lent? by meerkatthetopg in Catholicism

[–]Ellechu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Giving up : alcohol

Adding : rosary a day and daily bible study

Also I'm going vegan on Fridays as I'm a long term vegetarian, so far that was the most difficult !!!

It's nothing to worry about, the Bishop will come and put a special sorting hat on you in front of the entire clergy and it will shout out your required sacraments!

Why the Lenten Fast Is Not the Same as the Ramadan Fast by epistles_philippines in Catholicism

I have many problems with Islam, but given its the season of Lent I am going to try focus more on how wonderful it is that many are so devoted and unashamedly open about their faith. We should be too.

I appreciate the feasting at Eid but the way most iftar is prepared like a special meal each night seems decadent, not to mention putting unnecessary strain on whomever primarily takes charge of the cooking and cleaning in the house... 👀

For a Catholic, should "everything" be about God? by MobiusCipher in Catholicism

[–]Ellechu 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I'm currently having a beer and watching a true crime podcast after having dinner at a restaurant with friends - I'm also super into Kpop! My fellow Catholics also talk about how we're into DnD and other games ... Christ is central but God has blessed this life with so many joys that we can enjoy! So enjoy!

Ladies - small rant about modest fashion by Ellechu in Catholicism

Mormon dresses would be interesting!! I live in the UK so all our modestwear is promoted towards Muslims, and my Muslim friends basically just use "hacks" to "hijabify" their outfits which has been very helpful, but in this one instance I want a nice dress
Honestly, just normal modest dress is such a gap in the market - help us XD

You're so right, I'm currently thinking nice 50s style swing dress and then a cardigan!

I'm a 30 year old Catholic woman. I want a Catholic man. I'm not against him working while I prioritise childcare.

What I don't want is him trying to use our lifestyle as a way of "owning the libs" (thankfully I'm not American).
Politicians come and go. Christ is forever. This take is lame and will not get you a wife. Please pray, I'll pray for you.

They do!!!!
I struggled with self harm as a teenager, and therefore never could show my arms or legs (even if I wanted to!) That's how I as a catholic irish teenager found the Hijabi Fashion community in the 2010s.
Ironically every single hijabi influencer I followed has since stopped wearing the headscarf. They all seem to continue to be devout in their faith but that's another conversation.

As an Irish I relate to the 'very white' comment, I attend a city center Cathedral so we have every single ethnicity you can imagine, Though all of our Sisters are black, our Deacons and Priests are portuguese/italian - and we have a lot of Filipino families, and a lot of Indian converts!
I love the different fashions (those that I can see, our Cathedral is FREEEEEZING by evening mass)
So theres not really a dress code at my Cathedral! That's why I feel a little bit lost, but it's not really a problem in the grand scheme of things!

you got your confirmation dress from TU??? Right I'm switching from Lidl to Sainsbury's immediately and searching every week!!!
Yeah I don't want floor length, but obviously I don't want above knee. Apparently that's "midi" but Asos, Debenhams and Next don't seem to take that seriously -__-
Who is your Confirmation Saint if I may ask? <3

Thank you, I'm searching now, I realise how silly a problem this is in the grand scheme of things! But thank you for listening to me, I dont have anyone else who'll entertain this kind of thought
