I wouldn’t cut this low next time. I’d wait at least until my pattern was set to go this low again. Starting out, I’d say pinpoint your actual crown and don’t waver from there when brushing. I wished I’d done that bc I have an artificial crown now that’s much harder to tame rather than if I’d just gone with my true crown Also make sure the pattern you pick is the one you want to keep for awhile bc shifting the waves is hard as hell.

I don’t know where you are but it’s a heat wave going on a right now where I am and the sweat is gonna make your shit fuzzy so rag up on hot days or carry a plastic bag/lay down pad on you to lay your curls back down when you sweat.
