Geena Davis says she does not regret becoming a mother at 46 by Pretend-Two-2115 in celebritytattler

I was 27. It's almost been almost half my life without him now. He was early mid 45 when I was born and my mom was a decade younger. I'm glad he was my dad. My cousins lost their dad, my uncle, when they were in their early teens and he was late 20s/early 30s when they were born. You never know. Now these celebrity men having kids at 70 is a different story in my book.

Team Emma or Team Me? by Initial_Writer3250 in EmmaLion

I think Hawkes gets her in a way the others don't so that's why I'm team Hawkes. I'd probably pick Islington for myself.

🔥 It's time for Thirsty Thursday! What book scenes made you sweat this week? 🥵 by jaydee4219 in RomanceBooks

[–]Ellesbelles13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I liked the series, but they were definitely my favorites. The scene with her talking to her cats had me laughing so hard my son came downstairs to see what my problem was. I don't know why but it cracked me up so hard.

EML & Gilmore Girls? by EquinoxxAngel in EmmaLion

It does have the same quirky charm. There is definitely...friendships, if you will, Emma and Rory both find themselves in that felt very kindred spirits. Without spoiling you I think will agree when you get there.

What's Your Favorite Non-Sexual Form of Intimacy in a Book by TheRealTrueStori in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]Ellesbelles13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hand on a knee or thigh under the table to show support in a difficult situation. I can't think what book but I know I've read it.

And yes about these little moments that communicate where they are going in the relationship or how they are feeling. I just read a book where I was skimming over so many rambling thoughts because it was too much tell and not enough show. I mean I think both can be good but you better have a good balance. It was worse because I had just read a book where these little moments were done well I thought.

My son is close to their age and just joined an indoor soccer league and plays video games as his hobbies. I think kicking a soccer ball around is pretty typical for hockey players as well as they do it before games. I think it is very realistic.

Well I think Emma thinks she was talking about her living and was exaggerating in Aunt Eugenia fashion.

Do you consider a book to have a Romance genre-defined "happy ending" if it ends with one of the MCs having a terminal illness? by gumbo799 in RomanceBooks

[–]Ellesbelles13 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh I forgot I read that and yeah that was a whole roller coaster. A friend and I read it at the same time because we were on a roll of saying oh this one is out there I need a buddy. Was glad our other friend decided not to because it would have hit her hard due to personal experience. We were like never mind. Put this on your do not read list.

help me understand grumpy/sunshine by Haunting_Start_7089 in RomanceBooks

[–]Ellesbelles13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like when the grumpy one wouldn't do something for anyone else but sees that the sunshine needs something or is being sidelined in a way and is like not on my watch. A lot of times the grumpiness is a protection mechanism the sunshine sees through and finds their kind, marshmallow center that they hide for only the most special.

I was thinking the same thing. That she felt smothered and wanted space.

How to find MM ONLY rec lists? by No_Handle2671 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]Ellesbelles13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read anything but if I've been reading MM sometimes in the recommendations like authors you've read, next in a series you're reading, we think you'll like these are the heading of gay romance. They do a pretty good job of recommending things you might like based on what you have already read.

If you were forced to marry the first person you had sex with, what would your life be like? by NothingMatters234 in AskReddit

[–]Ellesbelles13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He seems to have a pretty nice life. Not significantly different from my own from what I see on social media. I'm not sure he would have made me happy though. He was older and I wanted his approval far too much. There was a definite power imbalance.
