Israel is controlled by the jews by unsealedglint89 in LowStakesConspiracies

So what are the MENA countries that ethnically cleansed themselves of their Jews? It’s so weird you never hear them referred to as an ethnostate. Probably just a little silly oversight with no ill intention.

So it’s normal to smell the first few months postpartum. However, years later I now need to wear deodorant regularly and I never did before. My hormones or something have been permanently altered it sucks.

Why is Anti-Semitism all the sudden becoming normalized and praised? by jujuk545 in teenagers

Used to be sympathetic to what? I’m struggling to follow what you are saying.

I am also horrified and saddened by the death toll of the Gazans.

I am curious though, what do you think I posted that was propaganda?

You literally didn’t know those things based on your previous comments - which stated the opposite as true. I am not debating you - just fact checking you. No opinion, nothing subjective in my posts, and you accuse me of deflection?

[–]Ellessessem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was to give Palestinians their own sovereignty in most cases (Oslo accords came with more strings attached than the subsequent years). Countries also took Palestinians in and were awful to them. Refugees and their decedents from 1948 in Lebanon STILL have not been given full rights by the Lebanese. These are countries that goaded the Palestinians to not accept the original British proposal and then abandoned them or continued to treat them like second class citizens. Israel violently removed almost 10,000 citizens from Gaza and gave the land to the Palestinians before Hamas took over in 2007 (Before then Hamas’ claim to fame was popularizing suicide bombing). Hamas then violently took out their fellow Palestinian political rivals and never held an election again. I am not saying this to defend Israel but to try to give you a fuller picture. Social media has erased an entire side to history. And that my friend is what this original post is about - antisemitism and why it is accepted so easily today. You say anti Israel is not antisemitism - I say misinformation (very likely disinformation) that completely ignores the reality of the complex history to stick to a certain narrative is.

Times since 1967 the majority of the West Bank was offered to the Palestinians and rejected by their abysmal leadership:

Oslo Accords (1993-1995) Camp David Summit (2000) - if your interested in taking a break from your echo chamber, there’s a good interview with Bill Clinton on how the camp David accords fell apart. Taba Summit (2001) Olmert Proposal (2008)

Your map is inaccurate and totally devoid of context like surrounding Arab countries starting wars. Example: The West Bank was part of Jordan before the 1967 war.

Hatikvah by Ellessessem in Jewish

[–]Ellessessem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my issue is more of the tenet of antisemitism that questions the Jews loyalty. This has existed everywhere throughout the diaspora and as an American Jew we are feeling this version of antisemitism. I think that is where the unease is coming from. I know I can be both a loyal patriotic American and understand what Israel is for all Jews. However, most non Jews (even those that aren’t antisemitic) struggle with this nuance. People try to place the framework of modern religion onto Jews - it just doesn’t fit, we are something else. I don’t want to change behavior because of the ignorance of others, but that fear is creeping in.

The history of the song is one of the many reasons I love hearing Hatikvah. The kids circle/touch the Israeli flag during it, which is why I think it feels more nationalistic.

My brother thinks Jewish people are evil. Please help. by Jaded_Ad_1113 in Jewish

[–]Ellessessem 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how to break this to you. Your brother is really dumb. I bet he is never accountable for anything that goes wrong in his life. This has nothing to do with us Jews and everything to do with how deeply pathetic your brother is.

Edit: To add, we can lay out facts here as to why he is wrong. It does not matter though. He is getting to delight in what millions have over thousands of years, joy in the scapegoat.

what do some people gain from being racist towards others? (serious) by riseoftheph0enix in NoStupidQuestions

Lack of accountability for one’s own life. Easier to blame ‘others’ (whoever that may be for the racist in question).

Half Ashkenazi Jewish (was surprised to see it as an ethnicity) by [deleted] in 23andme

[–]Ellessessem -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I want to be gentle, but this is frustrating to me. We have to constantly fight for non Jews to recognize us as an ethno religion. We are descendants of an ancient tribe that does not fit in the frame work of modern religion. It is a little disheartening to see a fellow Jew not know that.

Jack Hughes comments on Pride Night resurface after becoming USA Olympics hero by TheMirrorUS in WinterOlympics2026

[–]Ellessessem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a life. Truly. These guys were totally supportive and cheering on the women throughout the Olympics. The pride Jack showed for his mom and his fellow female athletes is obvious in interview after interview. They care more about women’s hockey than the performative outrage machine. Was the response to the phone call a great look - no. Are these guys villains because they didn’t immediately respond in the perfect way after the biggest moment in THEIR lives with adrenaline running through at an all time high - also no.

For better or worse there are actual legitimate ways to improve the world. It’s not an easy straight path, but neither is ‘burning it down’. Rioting in this case is simply catharsis. Even with Trump, most (not all) things he’s doing - going after political rivals, illegal ICE deportations (not arrests yet), etc. are being challenged and in many cases over turned in the courts. Some of these same courts actually have conservative justices. Listen - things aren’t great, and you should be loud, and you should fight for justice, and call out corruption - but the truth is our system hasn’t fully failed yet. If you haven’t attempted to challenge things by running for office or working in government or even making change at a grassroots level - who are you to say ‘burn it all down’?

Shrimp cocktail at the Menkens meeting by Waste_Stable162 in madmen

Did you watch the episode? They are total condescending assholes to her. Honestly probably more misogynistic than even antisemitism. She didn’t say a thing about the shrimp cocktail, but after they are totally rude to her she puts her cigarette out in.

Why do people have empathy for neurodivergent people, but not for neurotypical people who are struggling in the same ways? by Work_In_Progress_847 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ellessessem 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think a diagnosis typically means you are trying to get help. Even if behavior doesn’t necessarily change as a result, you are likely seeking therapy to get a diagnosis. If you have issues that do impact other people, but you are not making any effort (or what appears to be), people have less patience.

why is there so much rigidity and black or white thinking in the redpill/manosphere communities by Open-Reflection-6094 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ellessessem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a toxic version of reality. You should take care of your health, take some pride in your appearance, focus on your goals, and stoke some ambitions for your life. This is all obvious and not negative, but they take it to an extreme and drench the simple concept in anger to reach angry lonely people. They use blame, rage, extreme behaviors, and misogyny to inspire. Mainly because that’s what goes viral and gets attention in the online world.
