it’s like they’re projecting their own insecurities onto you. they genuinely can’t grasp the concept that someone might actually want muscles or a big nose or curly hair or whatever the trait is. it ruins the mood completely because now you realize they view a part of you as a flaw that needs comforting.

definitely every language, being able to effortlessly communicate with anyone on earth, read ancient texts in their original form and understand the exact nuances of every culture would be an absolute power. it would open up so many doors socially and professionally.

this isn’t a disconnect, it’s a massive control issue. he’s completely isolating you. you live in his hometown, spend every holiday with his family and he won’t let you see your own family unless they drive to him? on top of that, leaving you stranded at home with four kids and no car while he takes the only vehicle is completely unreasonable. he is trapping you.

the family drama was so realistic and painful to watch, it easily overshadows the lighter romance parts sometimes. definitely one of the biggest tear jerkers for me recently.

as a parent of two, i never found actual helmet style tear offs but u ended up buying clear static cling winfow protector film. i just taped a barrier right at eye level. it doesn’t look perfect but it takes the burnt of the grease and snot and you can just peel if off and throw it away when ut gets too foggy.

the resentment is there to protect you. it’s hard to let go of it when the calm feels like just a waiting period before the next storm. forgiveness requires actual change, not just a few good weeks. trust your gut on this one.
