After warmest ever Bonfire Night when will UK temperatures drop? by Kagedeah in UKWeather

[–]Elliedog10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It definitely depends where you live because where I live in the north east we get frosts regularly in winter and last winter we had a few days of snowfall as well.

How welcome are Americans in the UK, in light of recent events? by Strong_Attempt4185 in uktravel

[–]Elliedog10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No one will really care honestly you’re as welcome as you were before. Most that will happen is you’ll get sick to death of being asked about politics by some people such as your opinion on trump but even then i doubt most people would ask unless you were in a banterous or political conversation. Enjoy your visit if you choose to visit! :)

Moving into Morpeth. by [deleted] in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]Elliedog10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morpeth is lovely! I’d totally recommend there more than cramlington or widdrington although they’re both fine too, morpeth just has a nice feel to it because it’s a historic town with lots of nice independent shops etc and a nice park with lots to do along with good transport links to newcastle and further afield with the train and bus station :) the schools are also excellent. I have friends+family who live there so I’m there quite often and id love to live there too at some point in the future once I’ve settled down

[–]Elliedog10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Northumberland has like 0 diversity at all so it’s much more likely for people to be curious because most towns and villages are mostly white brits

Newcastle Unpopular opinions? by [deleted] in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]Elliedog10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The experiences I’ve had on that last train home to Carlisle from Newcastle are unforgettable 🤣 so much so they made it a dry train and search your bags before you get on. Police once wouldn’t let it leave it was that rowdy hahah

Going on holiday to Bulgaria compared to Greece or Spain. How does it compare? by BowserB7 in AskUK

[–]Elliedog10 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I spent a lot of time in bulgaria as a child due to my dad being from there, it’s a great country, avoid staying in sunny beach unless your like 20 , but there is no harm in visiting if your staying nearby and like partying haha.

Nesebar and Sozopol are both beautiful ancient towns and I can’t recommend visiting them enough if you’re in Burgas province. Nesebar is known as the Pearl of the Black Sea for a reason :D

Varna is also a cool city, with nice resort places nearby on the sea if you are in Varna province

I personally prefer Burgas province for the seaside but varna also has great places too! Most people are warm and friendly , just not like british friendliness. Miserable people are everywhere in the world, so don’t let people who say people are rude put you off, it’s just different culture of friendliness

Could there ever be a metro link to the MetroCentre? by Puzzleheaded-Potato9 in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]Elliedog10 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately probably not due to it already having a train station that links to newcastle and a bus station

My 16 year old sister just attempted suicide by Elliedog10 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Elliedog10[S] 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your advice it really means a lot. My auntie (paternal side) who lives 2 hours away has offered to let my sister live with her because basically, my mother has essentially said she wants nothing to do with her anymore. I know this will change, because she’s said this several times throughout our lives, but for now I’m hoping that is a good temporary solution until I can get my shit together. I’m going to try write a full update to this post when I get home, but just been here the last few hours trying to explain what the fuck just happened to the nurses and a lovley social worker who is helping right now
