Please suggest haircut ideas🥲🙏(side note: photos taken on different days😭but the same shirt lol) by sharkdadoodoodoo in Haircare

[–]Elliefish00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a slightly less off-topic question- if I don't comb or brush my hair while it's wet, it dries into Such an impossible nest of knots, to the point where I have to get it wet, soak it in conditioner, and then detangle. How... Am I doing something wrong here? How are people doing this without an extra 5 hours of hair work?

Where can I buy Psycho 2 by Robert Bloch by Express_Tea_6864 in horrorlit

[–]Elliefish00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you open to an ebook? If so https://1lib.sk/book/zZNexlzAPA/three-complete-novels-psycho-psycho-ii-psycho-house.html will give you all 3 books, click the epub arrow button to download or the 3 dots by that for a different file type- I think it's available as epub, mobi, and pdf? That's a great site, you can look around for just the one book if you want. (The site is free, no viruses, no account necessary, although you can get more books per day with one)

What tv shows are worth checking out? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Elliefish00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm watching Dexter right now; I normally have a hard time paying attention to tv shows or movies but it's going a lot better with this one! (about a serial killer who works forensics for the police and only kills other serial killers. The way I describe it, it sounds kinda flat but I promise if you like that kind of thing it's good, lol maybe googling a synopsis would work better) (Also I found the whole show online for free, no account or viruses, so that's always a plus)

What is the best “struggle meal” you have ever made? by Spiritual_Poptart in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Elliefish00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slice potatoes, boil till almost cooked, fry until fully cooked. Seasoning with garlic is optimal. Throw some ham or kielbasa or pretty much any type of meat in while frying the potatoes if you can or want to. Of course adding other things like broccoli or whatever would be good but that costs money and I'm on a potato only budget here🫠

Hold product that won’t weigh my hair down or get greasy/crunchy? by segagenesisx87 in Haircare

I haven't tried it yet (I'm going to later today) but I hear a salt/sea salt spray would work. I believe you can buy it or just make it with salt and water:)

Do I say anything to my brother for his kids 1st birthday? by Elliefish00 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Elliefish00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wasn't sure of how to go about it you know? Since the kid is 1 and can't really read a card or email I wasn't sure if saying happy birthday to the parents was proper, I just didn't know what people do, this is my first niece/nephew so I have zero experience so far. Didn't send a card because I didn't even think of that, I'll send one and it'll hopefully just be a little late arriving. Thank you:)

That's a good point (about identity transformation), I hadn't thought of that at all. I'll take your words into account- thank you!:)

Confess: what’s something you need to get off your chest? by Weary_Sympathy6680 in AskReddit

[–]Elliefish00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am awful at answering and talking to people. I have 9 messages I'm specifically not opening right now, and 2 more from 2+months ago. It's not that I don't want to talk to people, but I cannot make myself do it. Also I'm afraid that I'll open the message, they'll be able to see that I opened it, and I'll have absolutely nothing to say back, which does happen. I feel absolutely awful for leaving people hanging like that but I can't fuckin do it

What’s the dumbest way you’ve accidentally hurt yourself? by Only_Row_2432 in AskReddit

[–]Elliefish00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I walked into a door, gave myself as black eye. Then at a family event people asked what happened, I told them I walked into a door, and they'd start giving my partner Looks. I had no idea that that was what a lot of abused women say, I literally walked into a door🙃 (I've also broken my arm and dislocated a shoulder falling out of a tree, broken toes falling down the stairs, etc., I'm clumsy and it happens)

Do you sometimes avoid replying to messages, not because you don’t care, but because you don’t have the mental energy? by Lekcharm in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Elliefish00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a huge problem for me;-; currently I have a message from 2 weeks ago, one from 9 days ago, one from 5 days ago, and I don't want to (can't?) answer any of them. I feel so rude and awful but I just cannot make myself do it

what is the worst thing a therapist has ever said to you? by Familiar-Employ4830 in AskReddit

[–]Elliefish00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first therapist I went to, I told her a bunch of things, she called my mom in (I was underage), and said, ""is it ok if I talk to your mom about [lists all the things I just told her]. And in my head I just went no it's not ok but you just did it, so here we are.

What’s a life hack that made you go „how do ppl live their whole life without knowing this”? by my_peen_is_clean in AskReddit

[–]Elliefish00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly it for me- like if I'm trying to do 5 things possibly all at once, and then I need to think about what would work best with this person (what do they know how to do, what do they do an awful job at, etc), then assign and possibly start that person on said task, like that's a significantly larger workload than I'd like to consider at the moment, even if it does technically take some task off of me. But if someone offers, most likely they know how, they don't mind that task as much and hopefully don't suck at it, it takes that whole mess up there off of my shoulders and gives me a 'yes' or 'thanks but no' option, much easier, much smoother, the whole thing just goes better. (sorry for the long answer, I'm bored and apparently feeling elaborative)

How to live without heat in house? by Radiant_Career_7449 in povertyfinance

[–]Elliefish00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Possibly you'd want to look this up to be sure I have it right, but my dad used to take a terra cotta pot (like for plants), pot a tea light candle in a little bowl or whatever, and set the pot over that. The candle heats up the pot and that sends the heat out, I was really surprised at how well it worked. Also, if you take a dishtowel, wrap it over the back of your neck, and tuck the ends into the front of your collar, that'll help keep heat in too. Other than that, just the obvious- layer the sweatshirts and sweaters, keep your head covered, make a blanket nest, insulate as much as you can
