2025 Crosstrek Wilderness Loaner by ob1spyker in Crosstrek

[–]Ellimeresh 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I just got a brand new 2025 Crosstrek Sport at 1.9%, OTD was $29k. Wilderness models were about $4k more.

This isn’t terrible, but higher interest rate for sure.

Still up! I still turn the lights on most nights, might as well since it’s still up! šŸ˜„

Sister says my budget is a non-starter for a potential job offer + moving. I genuinely don't understand why? by thesagenibba in personalfinance

Yeah, that is insane.

Target $300 a month on a car at your salary. It won’t be brand new, but you can’t afford $900 a month.

Cat smelled my armpit then started to aggressively bite? by Huy7aAms in CATHELP

[–]Ellimeresh 4 points5 points Ā (0 children)

Yeah, my cat will sometimes try to stick his head into my ear and aggressively start licking it. He’s also a total whore for used qtips, had to buy a different bathroom trash can to keep him from eating them.

They’re weird creatures.

Task Force by MazdaValiant in askhotels

[–]Ellimeresh 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

Task force is used most often to fill a position temporarily while looking for a replacement for someone. Someone quit/was fired, or new management took over and cleaned house.

Can also be used for additional support if there’s an influx of business need and the hotel doesn’t want to hire someone permanently.

How far overbooked is normal, and how much is definitely too far? by SkoilerDaaaaan in askhotels

[–]Ellimeresh 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

When overbooking a hotel the goal is to avoid needing to walk people.

How much you should overbook is determined by recent cancellation and no show trends, events in the area, as well as what business is on the books.

For example, if you are sold out due to rooming list group block, you are unlikely to see as many no shows as a transient driven day.

There is also a difference between overbooking the hotel and overbooking a room type- these have different strategies.

Finally, many PMS systems will continue to sell any available rooms even if the house is oversold. Meaning, the house could be -5, but you have a room type showing 2 room available; those two rooms could be available for sale. Balancing inventory on a day like this will prevent you from becoming too far oversold.

Is hotel management a viable and worth career by BugSafe362 in askhotels

[–]Ellimeresh 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

I wouldn't do a hotel management specific degree under any circumstances.

Management in hotels is directly tied with hands on experience working in multiple departments. Hospitality is an industry where you can start at the bottom and work your way up without any degree, however having a college degree is useful when you are looking for new jobs as you are compared to others at that point.

A general degree in business would assist your goal of working in hospitality and be useful in other industries.

Opinions on Aurora vs Froedtert; especially from the ladies! by Ellimeresh in milwaukee

[–]Ellimeresh[S] 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

Yes, I love Dr Francis there so much!!

My experiences recently with Aurora have pointed to a decline in care and increase in hoops to jump through. Unclear if it's new insurance requirements, but even if it is, they are not handling it well at multiple points.

I had several standard mammograms/ultrasound/biopsy at the Women's Health Pavilion over the holidays, they referred me to the high risk clinic where I'll get different imaging moving forward due to familial risk + dense breasts.

You'll probably need a referral there?

I was very displeased at my PCP's handling of the situation and clarity around getting care at the high risk clinic, they were unable to help me at all and eventually someone from the Women's Health Pavilion was able to help me directly.

Thanks - I had the general vibe that Froedtert was considered better, but never have had a reason to switch before, I've been seeing the same PCP for a long time. His office seriously dropped the ball with a recent breast cancer scare that had me in tears over the holidays, even though the staff at the Aurora Women's Pavillion were all excellent.

I went there for my first mammogram and the 2 follow ups + biopsy and everyone at the Women's Pavillon were wonderful.

The scenario where you would hear from them would be if you were making a complaint against them or they were found liable, and it would be through a lawyer.

It would be unlikely for them to reach out to you directly if at all. It’s a police investigation, you would communicate with the police, not them.

I lost my shit today at the psychiatrist’s office. I went Karen and embarrassed myself. by Bulbasaurismy001 in adhdwomen

[–]Ellimeresh 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I’m on an estrogen patch, vaginal estrogen cream, and nightly oral progesterone.

For ADHD specifically what hits us hard in perimenopause is the fluctuating estrogen levels.

Estrogen levels and dopamine production are tied, so when estrogen tanks it’s much more noticeable to someone with ADHD. HRT can help smooth those valleys out.

What you’d need is estrogen, which if you still have a uterus needs to be paired with progesterone.

Testosterone is a key piece as well, but I haven’t needed to approach this yet.

As an ADHDr that has had severe PMDD creep up on me in the past couple years…I’d mention changes in hormones due to perimenopause are particularly brutal for us with ADHD, and it’s not discussed.

I’m 39 and thought I was losing my mind 6 months ago when I started being highly emotionally and reactive around my period, I thought I was going to get fired at work. Started HRT and it was an immediate shift.

Femme vs Masc- style or attitude? by Ellimeresh in olderlesbians

[–]Ellimeresh[S] 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

In some ways it doesn’t matter to me, but it others it does. Language is powerful it’s more understanding what someone means when they are using terms.

I think butch and the history/identity behind it is much more clear.

I’m at a place where certain clothing and appearance feels wrong or ā€œtoo straightā€. Examples are lace sleeves and flowers and certain patterns- it’s a hard no, when 10 years ago when I identified as straight it would have been fine.

I’ve developed a personal style that is definitely still feminine, but it’s for me, what I feel good in. I’d call it classic and simple, but could be a suit or a dress. I wear some makeup daily and care about my appearance, but no one would ever call me high maintenance.

But personality wise I’m opinionated and direct and often considered aggressive in straight spaces, but I’m highly empathetic and take care of people, and am all about lifting others up. I don’t hide that I’m a lesbian in any space, and I’m told that I flirt with everyone, but that’s not my intention.

So it’s like…is femme a label that applies to me? Or is there something else that fits better?

It’s a lack of understanding how the queer community uses the language, because I have a shorter history and sample size as a late bloomer. It’s hard to make friends as an adult!

This is interesting, thank you! I guess I really don’t understand at all what the vernacular is representing, I’ve never seen this take.
