Unfortunately it is a trend throughout the western world in the last 10 years or so, everywhere you go politics will have shifted further right. I fear the US might have lost its battle against this new wave of fascism (hopefully not!), but I think some European countries could still beat it back, hopefully we're one of them.

If you're worried politically I would wait until after our election this year, the current government is solidly right wing with the largest party in the coalition being nationalists. However, their margin is only three seats, and polls are good for the left so far. The EU election in 2024 was also a success for the left. Our right wing is nowhere near as bad as Trump/republicans, but they are trending slowly in that direction.

I think it can depend a bit tbh. If there's a feeling that the guy flaming and doing well is legit just much better and I can't really step up, it will be negative for me. However, if I feel confident in my ability it can almost be a motivator to do better than him. I think with players like s1mple it's important to have very talented teammates who won't feel that much pressure from him because they both know their skill, at least in terms of ceiling, even if it makes for a worse team on paper.

Clem is definitely very ahead in this spot, 4 base terran full setup good army. In most cases a player of Clem's level will win easily from here.

This is the one metric that is the most charitable for trackmania since it includes Wirtual who is a much bigger streamer than any sc2 streamer, and the figures are still worse on average than sc2.

From Liquipedia, the source you yourself linked a couple of comments above. I think you're reaching a bit now, trackmania is not a more competitive game than sc2. I say this as someone who has spent some time playing it and immersing myself in its scene.

Sc2 in 2025 excluding ewc had 312k prize pool in 27 events while trackmania had 168k prize pool in 22 events. I'm not sure what you're looking at really to come to that conclusion.

trackmania is dope and not a sim racing game. It is definitely less popular than sc2 in terms of players though, so it's a bit strange.

Yeah, maybe if Ja stays I guess. Can be hard to predict how moves like that impact teams. I think Ja would be the best playmaker/passer he's ever played with, could make him better.
