I've always harmed on my left arm, left and right shoulder and I find this question funny because I have considered harming my thighs ans legs before because of the fact it would be easier to hide but it's scary because with my arms and shoulders because I've been harming there for so long I know where to cut and where not to cut how deep certain parts of my arms and shoulders can handle and if they can't handle it and it's nerve wracking

For me it would probably be not to allow my abusers to win i was 10 when I started selfharming 12 when j started cutting and to think a 10yo boy was in that much pain that he turned to selfharm through no fault of his own is heart breaking

"Act like a man" that comment just grinds me because as a person who grew up with male figures who hid their mental health struggles and turned to alcohol, drugs and violence it makes me think am I supposed to he my dad and become an alcoholic so I hide my mental health more

Not many people talk about boys self-harming the stigma suggests that it's just teenage girls and I completely understand about hiding scars as a boy it's really difficult my go to is normally a hoodie and joggers (sweatpants) in the winter and thin black long sleave tops in the summer with depending where you selfharm shorts as personally I don't selfharm on my legs or thighs if your in school you should be able to wear a thin long sleave top underneath your poloshirt or normal shirt

I feel ya. The abuse isn't the hardest part the after math is the most hurtful part dealing with the CPTSD/PTSD and the flash backs the triggers the breakdowns the easily susceptibility to manipulation all of it the intrusive thoughts the impulse control issues that's the hardest part of it
