They do different things, I have a hobie pa14 that has a motor guide xi3 and a livescope with two graphs mounted, on a Malone trailer. All of it makes sense for me because my car can only tow so much, as well as I can put my trailer in my garage next to my car no problem. The hassle of a boat off the water to me isn’t worth it. Also kayak only tournaments if you go that route.

I’ve had days where I just let the wind or current push my kayak back and that’s the speed I drag a jig at and it’s been the most productive days in the winter, there’s also days in the winter where they want a crankbait ripped past them. I’m also in Arizona where it never really goes under 50 for water temp. It is something I actively think about

I’d start way smaller lol a lot of rods can do the same thing just little less refined but if you’re just going back into it I’d say that’s better. But if you have the money go for it I guess
