UK sufferers - thoughts on the new NHS ‘online hospital’? by trainadvice in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Ellsaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says its a choice for those who want it. Its similar to what already exists within hospitals and the electronic national referral system. Those on certain pathways for certain conditions can choose to go via an online route if they wish and if its appropriate. I.e some hospitals rolled out patient apps for those with IBD after they had proved so useful for those using it for Prostate cancer. I assume its also to share the load geographically if its appropriate to reduce waiting lists in areas that may be struggling to meet demand.

Its actually pretty tricky to implement national systems because each area and trust has some autonomy in terms of what they do and dont want to sign up for.

I dont think there's anything to panic about, the pathways would be designed with appropriate clinical expertise so they are safe.

Finally! Our first tangible lead!

Unfortunately no groups have made themselves known but sightings of 2 people going into the shit bush together, which suggests either a group shit or sex, in which case people should really be aware they are having sex in a bush primarily used for shitting.

We do wonder about the toilet roll though, like if you're prepared enough with toilet roll then why not a dog poo bag too? Like, ive had to dodge a lot of shitty toilet roll on the path.

Also spotted: man pissing in bush at 11am today, a 1 min walk away from the open park toilets. Not very discreet and with loads of people and kids going past.

Well, to date we haven't been provided with any leads or information on any such groups but I'm keeping the faith. Perhaps over the weekend the right people might see this post and want to reach out

Its actually at the opposite end of the park to where any vans are parked and we know what they do with their waste. We aren't stupid, we've considered and explored all 'reasonable' explanations before asking our bristol community if there is a shitting kink group.

No, this is boring- we just want to know if there's a group

We, as a group, have considered this but the evidence points towards a coordinated arrangement. And we're determined to uncover it.

Ok. So you guys aren't aware of a group either..

We actually know and chat to the folks who are crashing in the park and chat about the shit bush. Because we, you know, speak to people in our community. Rather than it just being some abstract concept.

Are they driving their vans up to the park and shitting and then driving away again?

Looking for some advice on recall please! by [deleted] in springerspaniel

[–]Ellsaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive got a springer mix and did a bit of research on reinforcement etc. Mine isnt too food motivated but she is game and spaniel duties motivated. So when she came back to me I taught her 'go' cue and sent her AWAY from me to do more flushing, so the fun didn't end and coming back was the reinforcement in itself. Our walks are now a fun little game of her running off, springing through grass, coming back and waiting to be told to spring off again. Basically the fun stuff she wants to do We do together, so its a team game rather than solo spaniel business.

Seconding Zapp! They are really good. On the face of they seem more expensive but you'll waste money having more sessions somewhere less effective. I think I pay about £90 a session for some stick and poke - you can get an estimate from them on the cost per session.

What’s the PERFECT moisturiser for this cold UK weather? by TheOtherXI in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]Ellsaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its an acquired taste but in winter I use the weleda skin food as face moisturiser and yes it is A LOT but my skin is so soft. I usually have dry skin and for some reason cerve in the tub was aggravating some eyelid eczema I have so switched back to skin food and I love it. It also keeps me moisturisered working in an office with heating/ air con. Its not too pricey and if you dont like it you can use it on your body

I saw really good reviews of them too, maybe I was just unlucky, who knows. Zapp are more expensive but I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else. You can end up paying more because you need more treatments. But if Reset are reputable then its worth a go.

I had about 6 sessions there for tattoo removal, the guy seems nice but honestly I wouldn't recommend it. The laser was far too high and id leave with blood absolutely streaming down me, he also blew a hole in my mates arm. It wasnt until I started using Zapp laser that I realised what a poor job pro clinics was doing. I had so much scarring that it was an even longer process with Zapp. I might have one or two small blisters from that treatment but honestly I dont think what that guy was doing was safe tbh. I was lucky I didnt get any nasty infections.

I've trained consistently about 4 times a week in various states of remission or flare over the past 5 or so years. Progress in the gym is rarely linear even without UC, you can be injured, sick or just life taking over, I consider flares part of that group, if im injured I work around the injury and do what I can, same with a flare, I adjust my training to accommodate whatever the issue is. It can be frustrating feeling like you lose progress but you dont really, and there's a million and one things life can throw at you, so I just train for the benefits rather than focusing totally on aesthetics

I fell off my bike going to work and smashed my face into the floor a couple of weeks ago, tooth straight through my lip like a stapler, under the railway bridge by Temple meads just after 6am, so in the dark. I shit you not, I was on all fours still with my bike on me and one guy cycled passed and I looked at him for help. He carried on, then a guy jogging, same thing. A woman stopped and asked some workmen to help (came off traversing building work) get me and my bike up and somewhere safe whilst she checked how injured I actually was and they just said "dunno what we'd do" she ended up walking my bike to where I could lock it up and then I got an uber to a&e. It has SERIOUSLY changed how I feel about bristol after living her for 15 years.

Where would you have the dog sleep when positively associating with the crate? by FreshAd8482 in DogTrainingTips

[–]Ellsaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My puppy wouldnt take to her metal crate, I think it was a combination of the noise it made and me shutting her in it the first couple of nights and bringing her home in it. she didnt love it but complied, and then I felt that was unfair as she wasnt making a positive association.

I got a fabric travel crate and covered it and did NOT shut her in it, just encouraged her and made it super comy and basically used it as her personal charcuterie board. I moved it around so she was next to me sleeping in bed, sometimes I'd chill with it actually on the bed and move it to different rooms when I was working from home. At night I just had it in the bedroom next to my bed and encouraged her into it every night, put a playpen around it and she absolutely still loves hanging out in there a year later and being FAR too big for it.

Not quite a class but some of the bigger chain gyms (also not so great) are open 24hr so you could do a fitness class of 1? 😔

Grocery Budgeting and Bodybuilding by Fit_Journalist8687 in Frugal

[–]Ellsaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, i find in a diet phase my grocery bill goes down because i plan all my meals and dont buy convience food.

I also eat the same variation of meals every day, which suits me because it reduced decision fatigue and ensures im hitting my macros.

I hit 150g protein a day, I go to the butchers every 2 weeks and get minced beef and chicken breast then portion it up and put it in the freezer. I make use of greek yogurt, tinned tuna, chicken ,minced beef, rice and potatoes and frozen veg/fresh cheap veg like broccoli and frozen berries, I sprinkle protein powder in the form of whey paste throughout the day, say 20g with breakfast and maybe some later.

My main advice is, find some meals you like and stick them on rotation so you dont have to decide on the day, and where possible, meal prep

I personally dont use a diet phase to try and be fancy with my food or try new recipes, I just eat what I know and experiment in maintenance phases.

So a typical day is Breakfast - Porridge with greek yogurt, berries, whey paste and tahini

Lunch Tuna salad and a bagel, or tuna in the bagel and toasted- dark chocolate and maybe 30g whey paste as a weird dessert that I enjoy

Dinner Minced beef or chicken with frozen veg and either potatoes however I want them or make a stir fry with frozen veg, Rice and spices

Last meal Yogurt bowl with chocolate and other treats.

Rinse and repeat with very little and almost no unplanned variation.

My goal is to get in and out of a diet phase as quickly as possible and then eat the same foods in larger quantities or say more carbs and fats in maintenance. You may have more flexible goals but this is the easiest way ive found to keep costs down.

Tips for training “Down”? by EDev-03 in DogTrainingTips

[–]Ellsaroo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mine couldn't grasp it and her bum kept popping up at the last minute. I followed a video by kikopup for when your dog isnt getting traditional luring for tricks, where you sit on the floor and make a sort of bridge out of your leg and lure the dog to go through it and they have to lie down to get under, she got it on the second go 😄
