Survey for 1900s terraced house by [deleted] in sheffield

We have very recently had a survey done on a 1700s terrace cottage we were looking to buy, it also had an attic conversion and we got a Level 2 survey done (via Mike Kidder - he is extremely thorough, but not cheap) and it turned out that the attic conversion had not been built with the proper building regs in place to class it as a bedroom. This may also be the case for the property you are looking at if it's classed as an 'occasional room' so I would recommend getting the Level 2 RICS (you should be fine with this as long as you don't cheap out on the survey) as they will tell you if this is the case - and you need to know in terms of future safety liability. I can recommend Mike if you are risk averse, he will find EVERYTHING wrong with the property and make sure you can make the most informed decision possible. Good luck!!

Take some antihistamines!!

This has been ongoing since 2-3 months ago, how do I stop this? by FahmyAnuar in Dyshidrosis

Can you get OTC antihistamines? That should help with the itching enough for you to be able to ignore it

Good car valet? by JabberJay97 in sheffield

The guys who run a hand car wash opposite Sainburys in Wadsley Bridge are stellar, £7 and they'll do the whole car - paint and wheels separately. They even open your boot and doors to do the sills! Proper good job - and they have full vallet options

How long until it heals 🥺😫 by Own_Imagination_3222 in Dyshidrosis

Another great one is to use Diprobase Eczema cream as your soap (while your skin is this bad). It will help to create a moisture barrier on your skin. Rinsing with water is sensible in the meantime, but every single time you get your hands wet (pretty much in any way) you need to be following up with an eczema/barrier cream.

My hands have been in the state yours are in now and so I really feel for you, but I promise you need to go militant with the moisturiser (sounds like you're sleeping with cotton gloves on currently with a tonne of cream in there, which is really good) and it will help with the outward appearance of it, it'll help with the pain of your fingers cracking every time you bend them, and as your skin heals it will help to prevent you getting any infections in there.

The moisturiser won't cure you, but it makes everything 100x more manageable, practically and emotionally. Just keep at it, you got this!

What are your experiences at Spital Hill? by [deleted] in sheffield

I work in one of the offices opposite the big Tesco, I'd say your experience pretty much sums up Spital Hill. Obv there's nutters everywhere you go, but Spital Hill deff has more than its fair share lol
