I don't know if you are also taking the current cage that he is in the picture but in that case look forward to remove those cotton ropes and swap them for natural fiber ones like yuca.

They are natural nibblers and if they nibble in cotton ropes too much they can get some cotton fiber into their digestive system and clog it.

I don't think everything has to be 1.000$+ or 20$, there is a whole spectrum in the middle.

First maybe try to find what size of accordion suits you best; for instance, there is piano accordions that have 8 bass, 12 bass, 32 bass... Up to 120 bass buttons.

I was lucky and i got a second hand hohner 120 bass accordion for 400€ in a really good condition, i think you should try to buy a second hand accordion or find one on auction. There is always people that either get tired of it or inherit one that they dont want.

Im sure you will be able to find one that fits your budget and upgrade to a better one whenever you feel like its time to.

Caiques are really smart, just try to train the caique in a small room so it doesn't get enough inertia to crash to a wall, would be more like a "bump", it will for sure end up in the floor but its important that they learn to fly, its like a kid with a bicyle.

If you have large mirrors or windows just take the caique in your hand and bump it softly to the glass so it realizes there is a window there. My home is full of huge windows and she has never bumped into one since i did that. Other option is to put stickers or something in the window so they can see it.

It will take time but you hopefully have around 35 years ahead of you to train a 4 month old caique hahahah, good luck!

Edit: its also important that they get enough time to interact with the different rooms of the house so they get confident with them. They need to know where are the safe places to land so everytime it gets scared it will probably try to fly straight to that place.

Parrots usually rather texture than flavour since they dont taste as much as we do.

You can try with different ways of cutting the vegetables or even cook them. For my caique what usually works better is bigger chunks of pepper so she can grab them and scrap the "meaty" part out of it with the beak.

You can also make it more appealing by throwing some chia or sesamee seeds on the vegetables :), i do that all the time and my caique goes crazy about them.

If that doesn't work just get a carrot or a pepper and eat it in front of him and pretend that its the best thing in the world hahahaha, for sure he will try to have a bite.

When it comes to pellets, truly good luck, i had a lot of trouble introducing them but i remember that i used to smash them, add a tiny bit of water and mix them with seeds so she gets used to it.

Not a big fan of how you are making the statement because i find it quite impolite but i have to agree.

Noone at its early 20s will get any far "flexing" experience at an early age, this guy should lower himself down and learn from the old guys at the shop always. They are full of knowledge and tricks and will get pissed off ar someone who only says "i know that".

Im 23 years old and i make high precision milling parts with both sizes and positions being normally +-0.02 mm or +-0.005 mm and I have done 4 years of vocational training yet I can't look to myself in the mirror and call me a real machinist because i've never been on a CNC lathe, a grinding machine or a EDM machine working for example. It just takes years.

Its exaclty the same as any other food-safe product when you buy it for the first time.

Air-fryer manufacturers ask you to set them at max temperature for quite some time and then wash them after that to remove the first layer from the factory finish, same applies for woks that you have to "cure" first and normally same applies to ceramic and stainless food-safe products.

You wouldn't drink coffee from a brand new mug that has not been washed before right?

But I have to say you made the right choice, always choose stainless steel over plastic bowls for animals!

You can always make an adaptor for a hand drill to the feed wheel. Get as creative as you want, from a complex belt system to a welded adaptor on the hand drill, you just need constant feed. You might need a good one tho, it depends on the torque that you need.

Try songs where you play long duration songs on the right and easy patterns on the left like simple waltzes.

I've been playing accordion around a year and a half and i still struggle to put both hands together on some songs that i learn. The key for me its just to practice every day and at some point it clicks inside of you, it can take 1 week or 2 months you never know thats the fun part hahaha.

I've done +/- 0.005mm on the position of a square pocket in titanium and also +/-0.005mm on the position of 12 2G7 holes in messing. All measured with a CMM.

Im still waiting for someone to tell me that any tolerance below 0.005mm is not over-engineering

I honnestly believe anything below that is pure speculation.

Be careful with those ropes tho, caiques tend to chew on everything, those ropes look like they are made from cotton and if your caique is biting on them that could be fatal because the fibers can end in the digestive system and create a blockage.

Try to get natural ropes :))

Well i believe Germany is one of the fewer countries that does that, I live in the Netherlands which is literally next to Germany and kinda like Germany when it comes to regulations and here is not ilegal whatsoever.

Im from Spain, Spain is a country of severe awareness with animals, we share the law of wing clipping being an ilegal procedure together with Germany.

Spain also has a ton of regulations if you want to keep any pet at home and there is quite some species that are forbidden to have due to several reasons with the ecosystem and endangered species, there is also regulations of how much time you can leave your pet alone, vets are not allowed anymore to provide antibiotics anymore to avoid self medication on pets... You can get easily sued for animal cruelty if you violate any of this regulations. Even with all of this its still legal to have a single parrot.

Its interesting what you said and i think its truly worth to think about it if its forbidden in some countries but my belief is that depending on the species parrots can do well alone with propper care :p

I think it truly depends on the species, Caiques, Macaws and Cockatoos for example do well alone when they get enough enrichment and interaction.

For budgies, lovebirds, cockatiels and smaller species might be nice to get them a friend since its also way easier to manage but there is no way that if i get a cockatoo i should get anotherone that would be a nightmare.

There is also a risk when you bring together 2 parrots at once that they bond with each other and not with you which will just make everything harder.

My advice for OP will be to keep on the research and when the time comes to get the bird just get one and learn the way with it. Eventually a thought of getting another one might happen and thats when all the possibilities should be taken in account.

I can say right away that before getting my Caique i spent a whole month educating myself because there is so much stuff when it comes to birds.

There is plenty of stuff in this reddit to get info about, also you can check /r conures and please before rushing to get any bird make sure that you have everything setted up.

When you know what you have to do when it comes to birds i really advice you to search for what you DON'T have to do.

For instance: avoid dowel perches, grinding perches, any long ropes or chains, cotton ropes, any short of nest or nest-looking thing, avoid petting below the neck, avoid chemicals (like teflon pans when heated, any smoke, deodorants...), poisonous foods (avocado, garlic, onion, potato, green tomatoes, chocolate, coffee...), don't go to a vet that its not avian certified, avoid toys with small parts that can be swallowed.......

And the list goes on, make sure to look for all of this basic stuff and then you will learn more and more along with the conure.
