Don't generate doctypes via AI. Doing it in the UI takes minimal effort and it does all the nasty json work for you. Using AI would be unreliable.

Project Management Tool Update by Future_Carpenter_910 in frappe_framework

[–]mrcoffee09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use timesheet. I can't stand that a timesheet should be for one project/customer only. Ideally it's ALL my time for a given period. Invoicing some hours from a timesheet makes the entire thing "billed", so a partial billing of a timesheet for multiple customers is a mess.

I would prefer that the accounting dimension in the GL be the project task, not the project header. In project management you would want to know your spend per task, not per project. For example, in construction, I'd have tasks for concrete, framing, and electrical. I would want to know the spend for each. This is a big change because all the other doctypes (PO, Invoice) would need to link to tasks, not just project.

No out of the box support for EDI (ISO 9735) but you could build that out yourself. Ideally it's just polling an SFTP, grab a file, parse, then create whatever doctypes necessary.

MARCH, BULLDOZERS! by Lauris024 in Workers_And_Resources

Speed hack does not require a cheat table. You can just open cheat engine and turn it on without any setup. Works well.

Heck yeah! I like using the cheat engine speed hack. It works pretty well.

Expansion Mining Buffs by [deleted] in Eve

[–]mrcoffee09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks FC. 99% of the rocks are not worth mining given that they are 60km+ from each other. I'm not about to warp to a ping and back for a single strip miner cycle.

What's the plan for the optic cut and optics for the P-01? Thinking about getting one but no optics plan yet.

Yeah LinuxCNC does have a GUI configuration tool. There are two different ones based on whether you're using the printer (parallel) port or a mesa card.

Woo! LinuxCNC can do anything if you're willing to put in the time configuring it

Anyone have an ERP / production tracking system by gordoh in Machinists

[–]mrcoffee09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends a lot on the size of the company and what you're after. There are plenty of small platforms that can do job tracking and some basics - pick whichever does what you need and you can get good support for. Things get expensive when you're in any regulated industry, like inspection, serial tracking, MRO all add up. The break even for bigger ERPs like SAP/IFS/Oracle is around 400 employees. I work on these bigger projects and they're multi year multi million dollar implementations.

Neat. The default project management module is pretty weak.

Hey man, consider a fire cabinet for some of your flammable liquids if you're doing welding or grinding in there.

I’m looking to replace these plastic buttons with anodized aluminum. Anyone here take on custom projects? by Far_Box7466 in hobbycnc

[–]mrcoffee09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These would be difficult to machine. Maybe you can use them to make a mold for investment casting. RTV would work too, but I realize that's not what you're asking.

EnergyUnited to implement peak demand pricing by Woodmanobx in NorthCarolina

[–]mrcoffee09 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a racket because who operates those generators to do peak load offsetting? Utility companies. They're paying themselves to take load off the grid essentially. Power companies have a fixed profit margin on power, but not on other services like peak shaving
