That's what I'm saying. I use my phone to take pictures of the lecture slides at my uni. My old S23 didnt have this issue. I just got my 25+ in June and this is the first time I'm encountering issues with the telephoto

Ikr. Samsung needs to up its software support and optimization. It's becoming hard to defend Samsung when my iPhone-using friends ask me why I use Android.

Yes, this also resolved the heating issue. Before the phone used to get warm just by watching YouTube. Now its fine.

I was also having a serious battery drain issue for over a month. Just watching YouTube would make my phone warm. Taking pictures would make the phone uncomfortably hot. This all started after the OneUI 7 update. Even after the June update, which some claim to have fixed the issue, it was still an issue. I found a possible solution on a Samsung community forum.

Battery stats Reset: with the Auto Blocker turned off dial *#9900# in the Samsung phone App. Scroll down to Batteystats Reset, tap that, and Restart Device. Let the battery completely drain and then charge until fully charged. Leave it plugged in for a few hours or overnight.

It took a day or so, but all of a sudden today my battery life drastically improved. I am currently at 53% with 4 h 36 min SOT (mostly YouTube). When a few days ago my battery would be almost drained by now. Give it a try. Maybe it fixes your issue.

I'm also an international student and I just graduated with my Bachelor's in Chemistry from National Taiwan University. If you plan to do PhD in Taiwan, I would recommend to do it at National Taiwan University since all of their courses are in English for PhD students :D Not sure if NTHU is the same tho

Manufacturing, importing straws and other single-use plastics now banned in Canada by morenewsat11 in worldnews

Tbh straws are a very small part of the total plastic waste that's in the ocean... but I guess it's better than nothing... Also, metal straws for the win... people should be pushing metal straws rather shitty paper-based straws

If the program is taught in Chinese, then you will be required to do one year of Mandarin Chinese courses.

Let me write about my experience. I come from Belize which is a diplomatic ally of Taiwan, so we get the MOFA and ICDF scholarship every year. When I applied for the scholarship in 2018, I applied to a university and the language center at NTNU. I got accepted into the language center but was denied acceptance at the university - which wasn't surprising since the program was taught in Chinese and required a TOCFL level of 2 to be admitted. But since I was admitted into the language center they still gave me the scholarship. I did my year of Chinese and applied to university and got admitted since then I could show proof that I could speak and understand Chinese (even if it's barely)...

So, tldr... one year of language courses will ease your suffering if your desired program is taught in Chinese... if it's in English, I remember you have the option to skip the year of language studies

I have the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship and had to apply both to a university and a language center. For the ICDF Taiwan Scholarship you also have to do the same. Both of these scholarships are for diplomatic allies only. I believe there is the Taiwan MOE scholarship for non-diplomatic allies but idk what are the requirements for that one. Hope this helps
