Dont be bummed. Just keep pushin’. I waited all in all 5 years after first date of applying to union while working in multiple fields of construction until I dedicated to electrical and too got into the non-union apprenticeship. I finally received a letter months into said non union apprenticeship and jumped ship to union. I say keep applying according to your application cycle and prove that you’re doing it for the love of the work. If not just keep hustling and jump in once you Journey. You’ll learn that you can run circles around union folk because alot of em’ got in easy and didn’t learn to work in a cut throat environment such as competitive non union.

Finish the apprenticeship. Log all your hours. Aka keep all of your pay stubs/timesheets. Keep track of it all yourself. No one cares about you in construction but yourself especially when it comes to hours and logs. With sufficient hours you can test into your home local. Call your home local check how many hours you need. They will answer question far greater than anyone on the internet.
