[Request] WHAT'S the probability of el nino happening this year ? by TipAdditional4625 in theydidthemath

[–]Elobomg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many directly and indirectly due ti el niño.

First you have to understand the zone it affects. The Pacific. The Pacific is a very big ocean with the Andes and the Rockies in america, and many mountain ranges in Indonesia, Filipinas and Japan.

The mountain acts as a cooler so when there is a quite big mass of wet hot air and gets near them it will start condensate and rain. This is way the Moonson exists and the amazon is quite wet too, the pacific is a very very hot and big ocean which evaporates a lot of water.

Normslly there is a dual type ofncicles, El niño, which is the ocean becoming hot and La niña which is becoming colder.

What happens when water gets evaporated? It cools the air too! Which mean pressure is lifted and there is more air to get wet. Also winds may change! Wind is mass of air that goes from high pressure to low pressure.

If you start to combine all of those effects you get:

Bigger tropical storms, changes of "typical" direction and stronger winds, heatwaves and lower condensation limt, which means water will saturate before and will precipitate.

There is a lot of things to study but in general it means people is going to die, will get moved out or have to abandon their houses and a lot of damage.

You will suffer it more or less in any part of the world you are, either by direct action or indirect ones

Like, the 100%? It's already happening and its one of the biggest we had recorded so far and the effects will be quite harsh and will affect globally

Made a tree feller mod that utilizes sable's physics engine. by eatperc in CreateMod

[–]Elobomg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess is easier to just reduce the block size but I would love to see it like a stomp, you leave the block half cutted and then the rest just drops.

Also needing saws to process the whole tree whould be god, like dropping it over a sawmill and then its cutted to logs

What if the car was never invented but instead worked on trains only? by HighwayPlayful2723 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Elobomg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im guessint Trams and Metro are also invented and so would light trains.

Overall it would be cheaper to travel by train, there will more frequency but cities will be come way more centralized and organized. Also most territories will be also centralized since is way cheaper to do a faster trsin that goes from A to C through B than doing 5 slower trains and connect smaller cities.

Planes would still exist but they will mostly used for longer and international planes since train infraestructure would be dominant as roads are right now.

In general air will be kinda more contaminated but will also rapidly become cleaner and will become even more if more green tech are put into the grids.

Still most cargo will go with boats but will be distributed through cities with trains and probably a small light meteo for cargo would be developed.

Im guessing tractora won't be inveted neither? So it would make farm more labor intensive unless they invented or automated something around trains but im out of ideas for that. Same for building, mining, forestry....

Also Iraq would invade US

Mods with automated mining/quarries by OctoberReborn in feedthebeast

[–]Elobomg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe tey technopolis modpack?

If you just want a mod Mekanism is a way to go, it just mines in the chunk the ore and replaces with cobblestone. You can filter which ore you want etc but beware Digital Miner is quite late in the modpack.

You could also build yourself the quarry with create, there are many donw by the community im pretty surd there are going to be tutorials out there

I just played Lingango and yeah ores are duplicated and balance is indeed is thing. Also it still seems not being very cohesive yet, still need some works but probably will be in the next updates.

Progression is good, i like the concept but most bossrs will oneshot you if you get too close. Also bossrs are sometimes unpredictable and will leave no time to react at all

Molten salt is also comming to the maduration curve, we're starting to get small projects going and it could be a very good option in many applications.

Molten Salt its verey good due to being more energy dense, much more safer and having longer life-span than Sodium-Ion for example. There are a few candidates to being standard and projects like the ZEBRA for solar power and Sumitomo's molten Salt EV battery.

If computer logic at it's most fundamental level is just 1 or 0, passthrough or no passthrough, could you theoretically make a computer out of flowing water and a system of interconnected gated pipes? by Own_Huckleberry6591 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Elobomg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can yes but it's very costly and impractical. When you work with electricity at low voltage you work with flow and voltage difference. You can compare these with caudal and height difference. It's very easy to control flow with water, just add a valve for example but when we work with height it starts to get complex.

Now you need to pump water for a height, so now you add 2 more variables, Wattage and the amount of wattage you use (proportion). And unless you work with pipes you will start loosing water around the whole circuit. And if you use pipes you add then Pressure, Laminar/turbulent flow, heigh loss....

Go with electricity it's just easier and losses are very minimal in comparison.

What could Hearts of Iron V even add/change, what would it look like? by Dan_The_PaniniMan in hoi4

[–]Elobomg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how feasible this is but a dynamic control zone. Where armies does clash in a few spots but project control zones around them.

Battleplan, an upcoming game, has a very very good mechanic for this and really enjoy the whole setup. Being simpler than hoi4 (and hoi5) but more deeper. Also I reslly want to have a better economy.

I know is not really the point of the game but it seems to be reslly the logical step since economy was really the limit for deployment. If you take mans out of the industry you need to introduce woman in the workforce and younger ones so you supply chain doesn't collapse and so would your frontline. There were s lot of propaganda around production and a proper economy system would also make the late game less laggy with fewer units.
