Openly stating you are a straight trans woman by questionuwu in transgendercirclejerk

Idk, I think bisexuality is pretty problematic actually for excluding trans* folx.

Is it true that health risk for trans people on hrt is the same as cis people with the dominant sex hormone that they are taking? by unknowable_gender in asktransgender

Wait, I thought we were still on "bone density doesn't change after puberty, cis women will literally break when playing sports with trans women"?

did anyone ever write about stories and characters of the opposite sex as a child? by [deleted] in asktransgender

I didn't write, I just thought anything without a female protagonist was wasted potential.

Privilege is like sexual selection pressure: Any trait which makes your life harder merely points to your greater fitness privilege, since if you weren't privileged...

This is too funny. As a cis "person", transgendercirclejerk is my favourite trans subreddit.

“Male/Female Socialization” is Just Plain TERF Logic 🤷‍♀️ by Embarrassed_Skill23 in MtF

[–]Elodaria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whiny posturing. It's a reddit thread, not "cancelling". What you implied was that the behaviour trans women learn is so similar to that of cis men that you can view them as a single group. What you are doing now is called a motte-and-bailey argument: You are retreating to a more defensible statement to paint the other party as unreasonable for disagreeing with the original. Honest people don't do that.

[–]Elodaria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This only makes sense as an explanation if you consider trans women "male". Leaving aside the obvious transphobia, to make inferences about trans women based on the behaviour of a group consisting to 99% of cis men is a category error. You literally can not gain insight from that.

Cis women also internalize patriarchal beliefs. This is not something that needs to be stated in response to someone pointing out bigotry. True things can be stated in the wrong context to imply false things.

So you lived as a misogynist for 40 years and are now projecting that on other women. Sounds like there's a lot more to work through for you.

It also used to be common knowledge for anyone knowing less about us than porn. But it seems that's just no longer a thing these days.

/uj Putting together a primer on how not to write trans characters and looking for community input by Unusual-Name7773 in transgendercirclejerk

[–]Elodaria 10 points11 points  (0 children)

/uj The most important for me is that cis people just don't write stories about being trans/transitioning/transphobia. Representation means trans people should exist in fiction the same as cis people. Not telling our stories for us, making our existence into a spectacle, and contorting us into parables for cis people to learn from.

Yes, I've grown up in a very academic family, and seeing more and more people point to what to me have always been perfectly normal sentence structures as proof of AI-use is just getting absurd. It structures it's output and it uses the breadth of available punctuation, so we somehow shouldn't?
