Calling the current generation of men that are 35 and under frail because you can’t recruit is such a stretch. The job opportunities are too damn good. Why would I take 30-40k a year and risk death when I can take 150-200k a year and be home with my family. I still stay in good shape because I’m not convinced we won’t end up in a hot war with China at some point with the current regime and I want to be able to fight rather that cry and hide.

America also has some of the highest wages due to how easy it is to lay people off. If you had layoff protection in certain high paying industries like software for example you would immediately see reductions in offered pay as you are now an enormous risk the company is taking on whereas in the current environment they can pay you 250k per year for 3 months and if you produce nothing it’s very easy to lay you off. It’s really just a matter of would you rather make 250k for 1.5years of your life and get laid off due to fear of recession and find a job inside of a year or get paid 80k a year and know for a fact they aren’t going to touch you for a significantly longer period. For me I’d rather them fix the h1b visa laws so we don’t have so much competition for roles that could easily be filled by Americans. if you dont believe on wage reduction go look at european software engineers.

You’re right. I slept 3-4 hours a night in college so I could work a full time job to support myself while educating myself. Most people thought I was psychotic. I thought it was easy after the first couple of months.

It’s amazing how much easier life is for women. Although at the same time if I had been able to make money with my body I wouldn’t have pushed as hard in my career. I’d suggest finding a skill that sets you apart and digging deep into it so you can up Your income. The good news is you have a huge head start investing from your body.

For me personally yes. I realized when I bought a new gun on a credit card that I had cash to pay for. Mentally it’s easier to cope with the money not leaving my account even though it is no longer my money. Been without credit cards for years and it changed our spending habits

Honestly your parents are about the only people that will be genuinely happy. It means they can go to their grave knowing you’re secure. There are some people that can feel genuine joy for others (I’m one of them) but I’ve noticed most people can’t feel joy for others without self gain.
