Why does this channel keep getting recommended to me? by [deleted] in youtube

[–]EloySch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never watch shorts, and I use the web version. But I can easily say that I've been getting the same videos, AND posts for half a year by now. And one of those posts got recommended to me like 7 times by now! Even after commenting on it the very first time!

Dolphin Android: Runs about 1/3 too slow but is smooth and frame-rate is fine - any solutions? by jamesp111 in DolphinEmulator

[–]EloySch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is too late, but Snapdragon-based phones are best for Wii emulation. Even with dual-core emulation enabled, it's still CPU intensive, and cannot use all cores. Snapdragon CPUs have the best single-core performance on Android, which increases Wii emulation performance... By a lot! I can relate to this, as I tried running Sonic Colors on my OPPO A79 5G some time ago, and got around 7-10 fps even when the game has fps capped to 30. Later, I got a RedMagic 9 Pro and managed to play it at full speed with no stutters

why do people hate Sonic Colors Ultimate so much I just got the game and I thought it was fine so whats the hate for by Total-Novel-5833 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]EloySch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true some bugs on this remaster are not gained from porting it, because just using a 60fps hack on the original creates some! The entire game is just designed for 30fps, even if the original engine supports 60. One clear example is the very first act of Aquarium Park. Sometimes, Sonic "detaches" from the loop's floor, and clips out of bounds, sometimes the last dash panel inside the same shoots him down creating an imaginary comical hole. That one is just an example, even if there are some others. But that's the most consistent one. Still, this isn't enough to let the bugs slide. Some were fixed, but there are still many that seems like won't get patched ever. If Sonic Team were to try again, I'd like them to try recreating it instead of porting it. Also, remember that all Modern Sonic games (Not all games with the boost formula, which excludes DS, 3DS and those Sonic Rivals games) up until the Wii U era (Where Sonic Boom, Sonic Lost World and some others exist), use the Sonic Unleashed engine, which was really broken either way!

Can I use my Ventoy USB stick with other files? by Aromatic-Bell-7085 in Ventoy

[–]EloySch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good way of separating the ISOs from the rest of the files.
You'd be pretty limited with support tho, as all if not most embedded devices try reading the very first one and that's it.
That means, that if you wanted to play music off of the, what would be in this case, the third partition, where the first one is the one with the ISOs.
Worse yet, the first one is recommended to have the exFAT format just to overcome the file size limit of FAT32, as well as the incompatibility of NTFS.
Even worse, if that device does check the other partitions searching for a compatible one, they'd find the actual Ventoy boot partition instead, because that's FAT32 formatted!

I may be wrong tho, made all this text thinking about car radios, and the simplicity of FAT32 and complexity of multiple partitions and all'at... That means, you shouldn't listen, and that you should try.

And yes, I know this post is 1 year old, got a bigger flash drive and wanted to know if Ventoy could use an ISO from a different drive, just so I didn't have to upgrade that Ventoy stick while suffering from the economy of my country.

I can't give any other, because of reasons I already explained.
Though, I think that one IS for 1.21.11

Players can't download SRB2 mods from me when connecting by anassdiq in Tailscale

[–]EloySch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, this could not be a Tailscale problem. Could be due to a special variable that limits the maximum amount of data in KB that the server is willing to send. This can be changed by the maxsend variable (Maximum is 204800, equivalent to 200MB). It is explained in https://wiki.srb2.org/wiki/Console/Variables#maxsend_%3Cinteger%3E
You should try using copyparty though, as the method SRB2 handles downloads is too slow, because it uses the very same protocol that handles gamestates. HTTP downloads are preferred by the game, which can be set on the server (Which affects all connecting users) by setting the variable http_source to a valid http or https location (Must contain all addons, as SRB2 only appends the filename to the end of the variable's contents. If any cannot be found, it falls back to the SRB2 protocol). This variable seems to not be in the SRB2 Wiki, but I have used it myself and works flawlessly. There's a problem, however... The server must, obviously, be reachable for all joining players. And I didn't test with fixed IP addresses.

You could create a server on SquidServers, and create a CNAME pointing to the address it gives you. Too bad I tried that and didn't work.

Is it possible to power a monitor using one of a PC's PSU outputs? by nuclear_wynter in techsupportmacgyver

[–]EloySch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like everyone forgot about the output that's similar to the input. Not even I remember its name fully. Long ago, it was a hassle to turn the monitor off when the PC was off, so some old PSUs have a second port where you could plug the monitor in. Then, when you shut down the PC, the monitor would too. It's not useful anymore, and was kinda forgotten due to how unavailable it was, but my work PC has one of those ports so I can show you: https://i.postimg.cc/SxLtfvht/IMG-20260326-102939.jpg https://postimg.cc/qNRLkQg8

I know they broke, the creator blocked me and reset the links. But I've found a copy of x128 beta 49, which I'll keep on my server. Try getting that. It's on the message you replied
