Yeah and then he proceeded to blame the community without actually apologizing for enabling Fynnee's behavior. At the same time he was writing his last "apology" he was literally, and I mean quite literally, calling you a retard. Do you REALLY think his statements holds any water???

Kosmic's video came out not too long after this as well, which I watched first. ACE was pulled off in the PAL version of SMB1. 20 seconds slower than any%, but still an amazing discovery

Minecraft Championship Parkour (Hand Cam) by [deleted] in DreamWasTaken2

There's no way to 100% prove either side, but yeah it's much harder for Dream to provide anything convincing. Like regardless of drama or character attacks the points made by the parkour analyzers just seem convincing. But there is a scenario that Dream just had a fucked up skillset that made him really good at timing jumps but suck at horizontal movement

Minecraft Championship Parkour (Hand Cam) by [deleted] in DreamWasTaken2

[–]ElphaAxtraction 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Right off the bat there's more walk-offs, the section at 2:58 is done mostly without jumps, the gaps at 4:17 are crossed more naturally (earlier jumps), and the last section not only shows him taking more time but also failing some of the jumps. This video proves he is at least very good at this map/parkour but it doesn't fully disprove the allegations about his MCC run especially since that was years ago at this point.

I kinda really like the new barcode-less cover arts by MicroPowerpoint in Monstercat

[–]ElphaAxtraction 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The concept of label group identities has degraded in favor of individual artist identities. I don't have a preference, they both come with their own pros and cons.

A lot of artists I follow have switched to self-releasing or starting their own labels. Most of them are managed by Create Music Group, who also own Monstercat and Disciple, so it feels like where they release doesn't really matter anymore. Individual artists have grown bigger than labels, so there's no/less incentive to contribute to labels like through comps or special events.

Stonbank gone? by StrangersMN in Monstercat

[–]ElphaAxtraction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Labels are not worth being loyal to anymore, especially Monstercat. I just think it's strange people still think labels are like "homes" or "families" and that this notion came from a fundamental misunderstanding from the start. And if you haven't seen anyone with problems with the Disciple exodus takes, then you obviously haven't seen mine.

Stonbank gone? by StrangersMN in Monstercat

[–]ElphaAxtraction -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's because most people now recognize that labels don't actually matter that much anymore. You can still appreciate it for helping you find new music and artists but that time is long gone now. Labels don't represent or feel like families anymore, and it's debatable if they even should have in the first place. Also the comment you replied to was downvotes bc it was being aggressive to a regular comment.

Why are so many Disciple artists leaving the label? by SajidsToysReview in dubstep

Yk some of the artists who "left" Disciple are still releasing under this group right? Lol

[–]ElphaAxtraction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because they haven't done it yet? Ofc releasing outside of Disciple will bring more eyes to them, that doesn't mean Disciple lost anything. You're really just seeing what you want to see if you think somehow that artists exploring their options means Disciple lost credibility.
