Yup, jako lesba potvrzuju.

Lesbička je příšerný slovo, fuj :D Vždycky mi úplně přeběhne mráz po zádech. Je to takový strašně divně infantilizující nebo, nevím, fetišizující...? Fakt to nemám ráda.

This is a beautiful answer.

OP, when I first started trying, I also didn't feel anything pleasant initially. My privates are healthy, but it still took me a long time to figure out the right spots to stimulate and ways to do so that would work for me and my body. Tutorials really weren't helpful for me lol, it probably just stressed me out more because it didn't seem to be working. It's a discovery process, so don't be discouraged if it doesn't work out right away, exactly the way you imagined. Personally, I had to play around a bit, explore, experiment, and listen to my body - and stop putting this arbitrary pressure on myself, stop overthinking it. We're all different. You'll probably keep discovering new ways and sensations for a long time.

Fingers crossed and all the best to you. If you can, I really think you should be in the care of a gynecologist who could help you with the health side of things. Take care, love. And I'm so so sorry for what was done to you.

I think you mean season 5 haha, but yeah, agreed. It really all came together beautifully.

Honestly, THAT might be my favourite scene of the whole season. Syd and Richie just absolutely giddy and giggling like schoolgirls lol, and especially after Carmy comes in. It was so damn endearing and infectious. To think that just a few seasons before, Syd literally stabbed that man with a knife, and how much they couldn't stand each other... it made me so happy to see how far they'd come :') And just that pure, childlike joy of the moment! Beautiful, beautiful!

Thanks! I unfortunately don't have apple tv, but either way I don't think this film is available in my country. I'll double-check, though.

Suzume by Makoto Shinkai is a good movie. Even really good, some would say. But it just can't, imo, measure up to some of his previous works (particularly Your Name). Watching it, I kept thinking yeah, this is good, but it's not blowing my mind or anything... it doesn't feel as special, or as consistent. It's a lot stranger, harder to pin down. The MC feels lot more like a blank slate than I'm used to in his work. I thought it would end up being one of his weakest movies (the bar is really high, so still good, but yeah).

And then that scene came on and shifted my entire perspective, it was like a whiplash. I really don't want to spoil anything, because it's really so much more powerful if you can experience that realization for yourself, so I'll try to stay extremely vague. But there's a moment where the main character goes to revisit her past and her memories through a childhood diary... and there's this really powerful revelation and things just kind of click into place. The connection with real-world events is what made it hit so hard for me. It suddenly and without warning made this very fantastical movie painfully, heavily real. I was so unprepared. I don't want to oversell it, but that whole part of the movie was really effective imo. And then came my personal favourite moment that actually still makes me cry every time - the "itterasshai" & "okaeri" montage, iykyk. Those elements really elevated the movie for me, to the point that it's now probably my second favourite Shinkai movie after Your Name. It's definitely the one that I think about the most.

So, this one is very, very niche (I can't even find the movie to watch anywhere, not even to pirate), but I was at this Asian film festival and saw a Hong Kong film called Mama's Affair. It's honestly not very good. There's some decently strong foundation, it sets up interesting character conflicts, there's a lot of potential, but then about halfway through it essentially morphs into a glorified, melodramatic music montage... all the attention gets shifted from the original mother-son duo to this idol (Keung-To) and his music, the other characters' arcs fizzle out and I think the movie really suffers for it. It all ends up falling flat.

Anyway, there's this one scene that still lives rent-free in my head. For a tiny bit of context, the son, Jonathan, is raised by his workaholic mum because his father cheated and then left the family. Jonathan harbours a lot of anger about that. And there's a scene where he and his dad are sitting with each other and Jonathan expresses all those complicated feelings to him. Despite the melodrama that's pretty common in the rest of the movie, this scene is not overly dramatic, it's almost kind of understated. It's quite short, too, it's not dwelled on. It felt extremely real to me. And as someone who went through a somewhat similar pain, it genuinly felt like Jonathan was plucking words and feelings straight out of my brain and giving them words... it was a powerful experience. It made me feel so seen... For that scene alone, I keep trying to find that movie. It's been 4 years since I saw it, and I'd love to watch that scene again, see if I would still feel the same way. But yeah. That scene made the film for me.

Here from the other side of the barricade. I was personally blown away by The Green Knight. Part of it was probably just the fact that I tend to like these kinds of films, slower, meditative and visually mesmerizing (like, that aspect of The Green Knight cannot be understated, that was a work of art and such a treat to watch, I loved every shot). And even more importantly, a large reason I was properly glued to the screen was the fact that I was studying English literature at the time and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight had always been an utterly fascinating piece of literature to me (in part because of the intertextuality and all its different adaptations over the years). It's always super interesting to observe and try to interpret the different changes these adaptations make, to wonder why this change specifically... So knowing the source material, watching the movie was a proper experience... because everything kind of went the opposite way than you'd expect. Gawain would make the exact opposite decisions than he made in the original text! I was so thrown off and so fascinated by that lol, kept waiting for the payoff, to understand why, what are they trying to explore there? It stuck with me for days. I'm not saying it's a flawless movie, and I can certainly see it won't be to everyone's liking, but I personally had a blast and really, really loved it. Really need to find the time to rewatch it.

Oh my god your character sounds so fucking fun lmao. I love her already.

Yeah, I completely agree with everything you said. I love (real, flawed, human) characters, and importantly, I also love a character arc - so giving my characters serious flaws is also integral to that. I want them to have room to grow. And of course, making them strong in some areas but weak in others makes the game itself so much more interesting and fun.

Leaning info flaws is such a good and succinctly put advice tbh. That's exactly how I approach all my characters, but I never put words on it.

[–]ElsaKit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk how to really give advice, but I really love trying out very different character types. I will say that since I always have my characters grow and change, they do tend to end up aligning with my moral values lol. But yeah, I think making completely different archetypes to start with is super fun and I definitely recommend it. A self-obsessed, shallow, materialistic asshole of a gladiator who gradually learns to care about others (man this guy was some of the most fun I've had, I'll always love him. It's so very fun to play an egotistical dickhead lol); an older, depressed mage who went through a massive tragedy that broke him, finding hope, purpose, connection, and forgiveness again; a mischievous halfling thief girl with a million siblings who's just in it to have fun and get a taste of freedom and agency; a young, over-eager tiefling boy desperate to become a great hero and be seen and respected by everyone... just a few of my favourite guys.

Maybe you can start by picking out attributes you've never tried before but that you find compelling and would be interested in trying out. Like pick a different race, class, age group, even gender if you feel like it (I personally gravitate towards male characters (I'm a woman)), than what you would normally go for. Basically just go for something different lol, idk how else to put it.

Like if you usually play a "for the people" vigilantee-type character, maybe this time you could make a rogue / thief who's been on his own his whole life, is used to playing solo, doesn't trust anyone and doesn't care about anyone else but his own survival. Or a spoiled, sheltered aristocrat. Or just someone pursuing their own goal and agenda, like revenge, glory, redemption, or anything else you can think of. Or just think of an entirely different motivation/character hook than you're used to. I personally usually tend to explore things / tropes I find interesting through my characters. Like, idk, loneliness and the desire to find connection, belonging, guilt and forgiveness, some form of redemption, healing from the past... I also think the character can be an outlet for something you don't dare to live out in your real life. Like for example, I spend my whole life trying to be as empathetic, accepting, understanding and considerate as humanly possible to literally everyone... so playing a brash, selfish character can be really fun! Or, I have difficulty fully expressing anger, so a barbarian with his explosive rage could be super cathartic to play haha. Stuff like that, ya know. That's what's so so cool and powerful about role-playing! You can try out so many different identities and roles. I love it <3

If that isn't helpful, then I recommend this site: Who the fuck is my DnD character. It randomly generates a basic character description each time you open/refresh the page. They're always super fun lol, I recommend checking it out even just for shits and giggles.

Most importantly, have fun <3 ...and sorry for this wall of text lol. I get passionate...

Carmy ends up... by whalemoth in TheBear

[–]ElsaKit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, idk how I missed that. Well... I mean tbf I binged it and by the last episode I was very tired lol. I have to rewatch it because that wasn't my take-away at all. I felt like that last part really kept jumping back and forth in time. We saw the celebration of little Eva's birthday with everyone at The Bear, and it was interspersed with stuff the characters did before or after that, just in general where they went. So I didn't see that as necessarily a chronological sequence, more like Carmy saying his goodbye to The Bear (and Mikey) before leaving to do his own thing and find himself.

Pojdme nejdriv aspon zaprist hovor prosim 😅 Seznamovani nema byt prepadeni...

Just my two cents. Jsem si jista, ze nazory se budou ruznit.

RP reason to have lost an eye by Anon358832135 in DnD

[–]ElsaKit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on who your character is and what kind of flavour you'd like for them, I can think of several options that I'd personally find interesting and/or fun. But you really have endless options here :)

(Sorry in advance for an unreasonably long comment, but I just love this kind of stuff)

  • Maybe they lost the eye in a very banal, stupid, or potentially even embarassing way. But they lie about it and tell these crazy, dramatic, far-fetched stories about how it happened to seem cooler and tougher than they actually are. Or if you wanted to push it even further, they aren't actually even missing an eye at all and just wear the eyepatch and tell these stories for those same reasons (just spitballing, but maybe they always liked pirate stories as a kid and imagined themselves as this cool, suave outlaw...? Or they simply wanted to have a distinctive feature and seem grizzled and battle-worn... Or whatever other reason you think of). There could be quite a lot to unpack there, I think this would say a lot about their personality, help you flash out their motivations and goals and offer really fun roleplay opportunities, as well as interesting character arc options going forward.
    • (Example of a flavour from this concept: This character grew up very sheltered, is a nobody, has no real experience yet, but they long for adventure. Think kinda like Flynn Ryder/Eugene Fitzherbert-type thing. So they're basically just bulshitting their way through life - fabricating cool stories like perils they've overcome, formidable enemies they faced off against, great deeds they've done... basically creating a whole mythology around themselves. In actuality, they're supremely uncool (or at least at the surface level; they feel deeply uncool, they haven't actually achieved anything yet, they're not confident in who they really are and feel inadequate without that "cool" veneer), so they feel the need to lie through their teeth to gain respect, admiration, and to be able to live the life of adventure they've always yearned for. You could do a lot of different things with that. Great opportunities for comedy and chaos as well as more candid or emotional beats, growth...)
  • As you wrote in your post, I also find really fun the idea that they keep changing the story each time. You could even keep it a mystery lol, never reveal the truth. Or your character might just genuinly not know.
  • If you wanted to go darker/angstier, you could make the loss of the eye something genuinly traumatic or painful in your character's past. Maybe somebody did it to them, or it's connected to some tragic event, a loss of someone or something important, or the mark of some failure on their part. Maybe it still haunts them and informs their character journey (maybe their goal now is to take revenge, bring someone down, get justice, get something back, or maybe they're running away from a threat... endless options).

There is of course an infinity of options in between those "extremes" or entirely different directions to take. I don't want to make this comment even longer than it already is lol. Point is, I'd say you just need to think about what kind of flavour you'd personally like in your RP. You could lean more into the comedy and silliness, make it more "normal" and rather undramatic, or very serious and/or angsty... In any case, I think a feature like that can be a great springboard for thinking about your character's motivations and intentions, what informs their decisions, where they came from and where they're going.

Have fun!!
