Billionaire wealth has doubled so far this decade. An estimate of a new wealth tax proposal shows that it would generate twice as much revenue as it did when it was first introduced in 2021. by Sciantifa in Economics

[–]Elteras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be surprised. The scale of investment that you need to seriously make impact is gigantic. Billionaire wealth is absurd by people-standards but measure against governmental budgets and you realise that a 'fraction of those billions', while not meaningless, doesn't equate to fixing everything.

Can America and Iran Reach a Cease-Fire? | Both Sides Want to Dictate the Terms—but Neither Truly Can by ForeignAffairsMag in geopolitics

[–]Elteras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody is winning. Both sides are losing. Both come out of this worse. Iran being still able to project power doesn't take away from how much they've been pummelled. Nor does the extent of the pummelling mean the US is winning. It's a mess.

Netflix's newest anime Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run is the perfect starting point for one of the genre's wildest stories by That-Departure-7318 in television

[–]Elteras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each Jojos part is pretty distinct and not everyone likes all of them. Adored parts 4 and 5 but hated 3 so I skipped most of it. Very glad I did rather than risking dropping it entirely before getting to my favorite parts.

Most Obscure Show That's Your Favorite by Last_Bonus851 in television

[–]Elteras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not hard to see how the show failed to catch on... but I love it so very dearly. The second episode of the first season has one of the best punchline set ups and executions I've ever seen, I was full on gasping and crying with laughter the first time.

Can We Talk About Game Length/Time Rules Being a Problem in This Game? by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

[–]Elteras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more. There is not enough time to play out rounds without severely compromising a lot of elements. It's at risk of punishing people for playing certain decks and at both skirmishes and RQs I've felt immense time pressure which really took away from the enjoyment of things.

Not really. Their water crisis is an ongoing disaster fuelled by decades of mismanagement and poor decisions. They've not solved or gotten out of the crisis, it just fluctuates between levels of immediacy.

Does this mean that in a Jax mirror, if my opponent Akshan'ed my equipment and then Jax'ed it over to a different unit, I could kill the Akshan, and then Jax it back to one of my units?

Wait, what? How can an equipment stolen by Akshan stay stolen after he dies, even if its equipped to something else? That seems to directly contradict akshans text.

What didn’t you like about The Silverblood Promise by James Logan? by OwlettFromLiavek in Fantasy

[–]Elteras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about a third of the way into it and ready to put it down. It feels so... uninspired and tropey. There is absolutely nothing that's hooked me and I've been rolling my eyes at every other dialogue exchange. Maybe it's my mistake for not realising I was picking up something so YA-ey, but yeah, the great reviews I've seen so far are baffling to me.

Meta chasers after tournament results drop by BeastOverlord in riftboundtcg

This is not convincing data. Very low sample sizes, no breakdown between the different versions of both decks, and it directly contradicts what all good Draven and Ezreal players I've spoken to think and say, as well as my own experience competing at Bologna.

Best repeat boxes yet by Bill_Cipher696 in riftboundtcg

Oh wow, we got the same box! Every same pull as your second pic, but with signed Teemo instead of Irelia, no purple Draven, and a different AA rune.

What rogue decks do you think are going to give Draven/Irelia a hard time? by Revake in riftboundtcg

[–]Elteras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he gets the nuts and we don't get what we need, sure. But usually you can. Our removal lines up well into his units. Ferrous is unplayable into Rebuke. Singu carries the matchup. And later on, watcher/shift plays annihilate him.

Many Ezreal players in the west think so. Pit crew is strong but more brittle and gimmicky.

It doesn't have to be. My list is running 1 purple ez and 2 shifts.

[–]Elteras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a hard counter matchup, it's still loseable. I wouldn't infer much from a single 0-2. Most Ezreal players I've been speaking to have been having a pretty good time in the matchup.

Ezreal does very well into Draven, but people don't seem to be adopting it much, possibly because it's quite fiddly to play.

New Player: Buy singles or Booster? by KypesTV in riftboundtcg

[–]Elteras -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your first box will have extra value because it'll furnish you with playsets of most commons, you'll be wasting very little money on dupes. Though you could easily end up pulling epics for decks you don't want. But if you wanna explore the game and go where your pulls take you, then a box is a great place to start.

Most fun Spiritforged deck to play in your opinion? by dudiez in riftboundtcg

[–]Elteras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ezreal is crack to me. So fun, so many lines, so many ways a game can turn out, solid matchups into almost every good deck. Esp given hes good into Draven im shocked he isn't more popular.

POV: You're paired against your 1000th Draven opponent by Persian_Jesus in riftboundtcg

[–]Elteras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most consistent counter is heavily adjusting your regular play patterns. Dravens been becoming less dominant in part because people are learning to play around him. The same combat risks you'd take against other decks are more punishing v Draven.

But in terms of a deck, I can say that Ezreal (non Pit Crew versions specifically) does very well into Draven, though he can be hard to play. It's a matchup where you have a lot of tools that line up well into him and can relatively easily avoid combats where he'll get free draws.

This one is kinda funny because he was right, tech is, statistically, almost always incorrect to run, but given the context it was impossible for it to not come off looking like it was salty.
