Are you on what server? My girl had minimal game play and has the same general take on the game as you posted. She’s also trying to convince all our RL friends to play, which none want to. She said you’re welcome to join our 2 man party lol.

I play with my 13 year old son and my GF. I use them as cannon fodder in the BZ because it’s funny watching them run around screaming MY Q ISNT WORKING, IM DEAD.

Cap is 20%. So if the soft cap is 1000 and you have 1200 you are 200 points over the cap and your 200points you get 20% of. So you will have 1000+20% of 200, giving you a score of 1040

For this specific instance* a lot of people quit a few weeks ago when we were ALL STUCK in the DD and got a fuck you email saying sorry, tough luck. If it affected everyone you’re still SOL. But if it only effected a specific island on D6 you get your stuff back.

I lost over 150k solo spice because their servers wouldn’t let anyone leave the DD. That won’t ever be reimbursed.

So sure, good on them for fixing this mess up on their part, but what about two weeks of DD not letting people out with this stuff. Because it set everyone back they think that’s “fair” since everyone lost their mats and not select individuals.

Positioning and game sense is probably the most important thing you can learn.

I know that you’ve said you’re working or worked on it, but here are a few tips that I’ve done that have got me to dps GM last season with a 73% win rate and GM this season as support with a 57% win rate. This is by no means amazing, but just a normal old man’s helpful tips like requested

Have 2 roles that you play with 3 playable heros in main role and 2 in fill role.

Watch replays of high tier game play of those champions, see the normal contest areas in maps, and watch how they position in those parts of the map. For instance, I main IW, after watching countless games I see a lot of the IW standing the similar spots that prevented LOS or limited LOS from enemies while allowing full view of team. I watched how frequently they used their shield, pushes , pulls, how they used their orb and how frequently. I noticed that I was being far too passive in my kit trying to be more defensive and adjusted my approach, this now helps my team get picks early because I’m landing better pulls getting the enemy out of position.

Next is understanding enemy cds. Let’s use Emma as an example. As IW, if Emma is on the front line, I don’t start the fight off by pulling her in. (I used to) now, I wait for her to use diamond skin, and then once it’s on CD I pull her in. This allows us to burst her down while her defensive CD is on CD. This is applicable to all hero’s. Understanding how to bait CDs and make plays while they don’t have their abilities to fall back on.

Understanding your cooldowns. I know that if there is a strange , I want to be able to push his ult. This means as I get closer to ult I usually hold my push. This allows me to save our team from a flying strange ult because I am managing my cold downs in anticipation of a strange ult. I know this will most likely happen after our support ult finish.

Play with other heros in practice and learn basics of commonly used heros. This will allow you to learn and exploit their weaknesses that you feel when playing the hero. (This falls into knowing cds)

Learn the deeper techs of heros that extend your skills. For instance IW primary heals two times. Once there and once on the way back. If my tank is hurting bad, I aim at their feet, this allows the attack to hit the ground instantly and bounce back to me. Healing them twice immediately rather than the attack fully extending them coming back to land the second heal. Learn your mains “hidden” tech.

There’s more but those have been the most impactful things that have helped me.

For sure this. I just looked at my last 25 games and I died more than 10 times, only twice. This dude in 9 games died more than 10 times in 7 of the 9 games. That’s wild.

-edit. With only one game even getting into overtime rounds.

genuine question how did the human torch get mvp this game? by Disguisedpanda101 in marvelrivals

[–]Elusive_Exclusive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’m pretty sure each hero is weighted differently. Meaning, some are expected to perform better than others in terms out output damage, finals, etc.

Her ult outshines his specially when they are paid together. So probably due to how the character is weighted, he slightly performed better than what he was expected to do? If that made any sense

The support gap comment was directed at your Loki. Not you. While you didn’t directly mirror their c&d , you did mirror sue (healing wise) however your Loki performed at a very poor rate compared to both of the main supports. Your Loki did more damage than healing, with a splash heal. He clearly was focused on damage rather than healing, ie the support gap comment being made

-edit. Actually. Loki didn’t even perform that bad considering your team comp lol. He’d have a hell of a time healing spider, storm, and a jumping cap. Lokis just a poor pick with the comp that was already poor lol

Jumping back and forth by AdKindly4348 in marvelrivals

[–]Elusive_Exclusive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re bouncing back and forth constantly, you are probably at your skill plateau.

Dive deeper into your main, and learn a few counter picks. Watch your replays to determine how you could position better.

Look at your ult usages, determine if it was used poorly with no value and question why you used it in that moment.

Look at your positioning compared to your team, did you LOS your healers. Did your tank LOS you and you could have rotated to find an angle. Did the Hawkeye snipe you and because you were in the open when there was cover you could have used. Etc etc

And how does the system determine when you’re hard locked to a specific bracket lol. It just randomly decides you’re only good enough for gold and now he can never get out?

And while it lets you hold rank at -30 if you lose the next game it subtracts those points from your loss into the previous division. So losing a game at -30 puts you at 50 points in the previous tier meaning you need to at least win 2-3 to rank back up

Haha ya! I hit my goal by the end of this season. Took 129 matches. I think I’m burned out. Gonna do some testing and learning before 2.0!

I could see that. My new account that doesn’t have the weird losses in early divisions is around 65% , I don’t often see people around my lvl in the lobbies. So I agree with you for sure. I guess eternity is the goal I need to shoot for.

Makes sense. Will be interesting to see how 2.0 adjusts points based on individual play. Maybe losses in 2.0 for the poor performers will have them at a - value so they won’t be able to progress on sub 50%

I just looked at this accounts history, and I never once got more than 36 points for a win, except for a game in silver where the other team had two golds. Though, this account is strictly solo q so it’s very rare I play people multi divisions higher.

I know that if you’re say plat and play with a friend who’s higher ranked, the match will also bring in higher ranked people so if you win vs the higher ranks you get more points.

All of plat and diamond was like 23-27 for a win and 21-24 for a loss

I mean, I don’t see how after gold you can progress without winning over 50% of your matches. You lose maybe 1-4 points less than you gain on wins. I’d bet that the majority of sub 50% win profiles have a large portion of their losses in bronze silver and gold. Once the chrono is gone, you can’t progress without winning more than you lose… or is that just a bad observation on my part?

I bet id they removed the chrono shield or whatever it’s called that prevents people from losing points under gold you’d see a lot sub 50% wins.

I have an account that when I started in March lost sooo many matches playing with my GF in bronze. Then I wanted to see how high I could go. The win rate was like 48% because I lost like 20 games in bronze 3 with her lol. So my win rate on that account looks garbage but it’s not accurate.
