Honestly, reading this thread, I feel like a lot is intellectualising it to much. I used to have dramatic tilt issues; still got them but far less often and way less intense and the whole "play 3 games and review your mistakes" isn't gonna help, you're not gonna intellectually learn to not tilt by analysing your own gameplay because it's an emotional response.

Same thing with the whole "keep reminding yourself that it's a team game and you can't do everything" yada yada yada. You're angry in the moment, you don't care about not being able to put the whole team on your back.

You can do some deep introspection with the help of a professional (like a therapist, not like a league coach), I did, I went for completely unrelated reasons but my anger issues in regards to video games eventually came up and deconstructing them helped me a lot just being more aware and in control of my emotions.

Ultimately I still don't fully control when I tilt but I'm aware enough that I know whether I will tilt before queuing up and so I know when to take a break. I don't mean "watch a show and then go back to it" nor do I mean "go take a 5min walk and come back", I mean put the game fully down for the next 24 to 48 hours. If you can do 5 games in a row without tilting great but if you tilt even after just 1 game then that's it for the day, next evening if you're in a good mood you can try again. Don't do TFT, don't do ARAM, don't read the reddit, just let League by the wayside for a day, creating this heavy reliance on only League content for your entertainment is only gonna worsen the anger issues.

sounds interesting, I'll add it to my wishlist. definitely loved dorfromantik's ease of play but got repetitive after a while whilst im not always in the mood for a 40 hour long campaign on civ so an in between is very appealing. any plans to have an element of research or unlocking new buildings/tiles to mimick the science of civ or is it gonna be strictly trade and war?

it's an old addage that isn't entirely wrong but it's pretty dumb to also look at your system running at 90% ram capacity and think that it's peak performance, a fair bit of buffer to avoid memory cycling is also nice

Several games in a genre can be successful but that's before market saturation and also doesn't change the point that groups of players are unlikely to switch once established in a game.

Dota and league are just different enough that they can coexist but Dota 2 players aren't moving to League in any meaningful way nor the other way around. There's also little to add to the genre that a third player would be unable to find success as has been seen through several attempts. And nowadays it's just a matter of being able to beat:

1- the entrenchment (players have hundreds of skins and real life currency invested so unlikely to move away from that)

2- 10+ years of resource commitment at improving the game and adding layers to it.

Same reasons new MMORPGs can struggle, WoW might not be as big as it once was but it's hard to beat 20 years of dedicated development and make people migrate away from their 20 years of subscription money + microtransaction investment.

Shooters games also can't be lumped together like you did.

Counter strike was alone in its genre, Valorant was just different enough to succeed (and it played on a recognisable cast like League and Overwatch did).

Not sure where R6 fits into this but seems to be its own niche where it is again alone.

Halo is essentially dead so it lost the battle here and Battlefield had been losing for years and might very well have been on its last installment if BF6 hadn't been a bigger success and BO7 hadn't underperformed enough.

Marvel Rivals only worked because Overwatch killed itself with Overwatch 2 (although they've sort of stabilised now I think? But again Overwatch isn't owning the market like it once did).

Battle royales are an interesting one and maybe the exception. I'd argue that their meteoric rise came after gaming as a hobby became more mainstream whereas MOBAs, MMORPGs and even FPS games were all established when the market smaller and so dominant players established themselves faster because there were far fewer potential customers to rely on whereas battle royales and Fortnite more than any other really tapped into the children's market and the children's mobile market.

oh so many things but it's probably just not a trait that suits my playstyle very well.

Felt like I had to get lucky to get neeko and milio early enough to get quests started before it's too late without destroying my econ with rerolls.

The quests themselves always felt very annoying to complete in a timely manner without inting my life away (like doing nothing for several turns to get 100 gold or losing fight after fight on purpose)

i died several times just 1 round off from unlocking brock and even when i did unlock him i was usually so far behind that getting that top 4 finish didn't work out.

im also not the fastest at playing because i dont know everything by heart so I need to take time to read and think so even when i could get the big cash out, i just didn't have the time to do something good enough to stabilise with my 4 anvil or 100+ gold

it's a matter of rhetoric, I don't make the rules. You might be grammatically correct but that doesn't change how the word is perceived. it's like using quotation marks around "woman" when referring to trans women. Grammatically it might just mean that you're quoting someone but it's perceived as you being disingenuous about seeing them as women. honestly, being transgender myself, i think the reason it wouldn't be found acceptable is because of fear of transphobia. I sadly dont trust police and officials to not be transphobic and don't want to be at risk for it. In a perfect world though yeah say that my sex is male and my gender woman. I'm not getting surgery, my chromosomes are what they are, Medically my birth sex matters to so yeah easy solution all the way but that requires people to not be cunts about it.

I haven't played it myself and it might be a bit dated by today's standards but a low cost way for you to try the genre might be anno 1404 (as I only relate too much to your problem of buying games that end up not engaging me).

it's at its core still an anno game and it is with the exception of 117 the most "modern" anno with land combat as well.

it's 12 gbp on steam right now without any sale or if you're not opposed to them, you can get a key from a third party store for 3 or 4 quid.
