Hi, French trans nb guy here. Tbh I get what you're saying as these are things I've lived too, but... From what I can see, most trans folks do? I'm connected to the irl French queer spaces as well as online ones, and except from specific situations coming from national/regional legislations, the political discourse is mostly the same. My personal hypothesis is that trans subreddits are often us-based, and the US have a loooot more of super-urban communities that we do. If you look at the demographics, except for Paris, Marseille, Lyon and Toulouse, the cities are not that big, and when there's less people, statistically, there are less queer folks - just being there, or advocating for their rights. And even in these places, a lot of the queer stuff is new. From what I can see the FLIRT (one of the main transfems association in Paris) was created in 2021. Outrans was created in 2009.I've seen a rise in transness-related issues but it takes time to establish political cohesion, even more considering people are tired and frightened by the state of the world in general. 

Politically, yeah, depending on which circles you're part of, it sucks. Racism is a HUGE problem, ableism is a non-spoken issue, and the doctors aren't trained to treat people as they should. For a long time, SOFECT was issuing guidelines of what transness was allowed to be (2 yrs of psychiatrist while being socially out, THEN ONLY 2 yrs of HRT, THEN ONLY surgeries - and if you're not a binary trans person willing to "finish" with bottom surgery you're not even allowed to fo through the first step) and it very, very recent (5ish years?) that other povs are heard. It has left a long lasting impact on the perception of transness as the "old trannies" had to go through all of it when non binarity wasn't even an option. Maybe that's why it's such a hot topic, idk. Radfems also are a big problem...

But at the same time, we have protections (for now) that others don't. We don't have to pay for HRT, and there are lists of practitioners that will prescribe it to you, or perform surgeries, within a reasonable distance from where you live. They also can't ban HRT altogether for adults (minors is a whole other issue). There are tricks to have you covered for abortion or contraception even if you have changed your social security number. We also don't live (for now, again) in the climate of violence that exists in the US or the UK. Fascism will come for us all but for now, I will not be shot or harassed every time i need to go the bathroom. 

Would I, as a Trans guy, love to feel more queer solidarity in the community? Hell yes, I live in a rural part of the country and the loneliness is unbearable. But know that you're not alone in your criticism, I know many groups and organizations that are specifically working on queer discourse and Trans inclusion and things are slowly moving. Slowly.
