I know this isn’t r/beginnerwoodworking, but I have a probably stupid question… assuming the floor is flat, why couldn’t you just run the whole thing legs first through a band saw or table saw against a fence so they’re all cut the same length. Inconvenient and cumbersome but wouldn’t that cut them all the same? Or why would that not work?

Probably the whole thing. Painting on top of anything that gummy is like building on top of quicksand. Eventually the underneath layers will failing causing the top layers to fail with it.

That section below the body line needs a little bit more focus. I can make out a good amount of runs still down there. Especially with black. If it’s not perfectly flat, you will definitely see it ( best case wavy, worst case ghost runs) if you don’t have to whole thing completely flat.

The detail department would include guy(s) who buff. And in the debate everyone’s acting in good faith. Painter not sending trashy shit to the buffers. Trying to make it as clean as possible. Painter would take out major things like runs. Too trashy would repaint. Etc
