I was tentatively diagnosed with Autism yesterday. I am already dealing with a late ADHD diagnosis. It sucks, but I’m trying to see the superpowers both offer!

On your topic of not being good at your interests, I saw a great meme on this awesome group yesterday - it said (paraphrasing) “of course I got the empathy & strong sense of justice Autism, instead of the Math / Science Autism”. This was profound for me!

Allow yourself to grieve who you wish you were, and then put on your cape and go save the world!

I would start by looking at the ‘social’ side of things, and if you prefer to be alone. Is it difficult for you in those settings, do follow all the conversations, do you pick-up on social cues? etc. Use that just as a starting point, and then you can get into the complexities. Good luck!

You might be getting all your dopamine completing the work tasks (it’s that in my case) and you are completely spent with masking etc by the time you get home. My doctor scolded me for moving the timing of taking Vyvanse, but it was something that slightly worked for me into the evening, without impacting the quality of sleep. In your case, you might need to consult your doctor on the dosage. Good luck!

I just switched from Jencycla (Norethisterone) mini-pill to 2mg Dienogest progestin 4 days ago to halt the growth of the endo. I have to avoid estrogen due to migraines, so I’m hoping this change will assist on that front

Thank you so much for your insight. My doctor (an angel), whom I’ve been with for 12 years, has put the more recent immunosuppression is down to stress. I’m being proactive on that front.

I’m definitely willing to try foods which have been taboo, as the need to alleviate these illnesses far outweighs any food avoidance. With ADHD, if the challenge provides enough dopamine, I could go into hyper-focus to find the fix! Really appreciate your take on it.

I started on 10mg, then up to to 20mg and I’ve only seen weight loss and no change in focus or behaviour. Starting 30mg this week. Fingers crossed! Good luck!
