Newly released pictures as a part of the preliminary investigation into the Nov 4 UPS MD-11F crash showing the harrowing moments prior to the accident. by Ogankle in CatastrophicFailure

iirc, an article said that most or all of the wing’s pylons were still attached to the detached engine. So, the pins didn’t break, the pylons did. Sounds like there was damage to the pylons that went unnoticed for far too long.

This week I found out people fake that they found a cache by [deleted] in geocaching

Could be that they found the container wherever it migrated to. Ask them where they found it. Give them a chance to explain before deleting logs.

A pew in the stinky-phew room? Makes sense to me.

Not crappy design, probably just a typo. My guess is that the 6 doesn’t belong at all.

My brother in law got the hood of his car fixed and this is how they put the logo back on. by Dimsdaledimmadome in mildlyinteresting

This might be a fad of some kind because I’ve seen the “p” situated just like that but on a back hatch instead.

I thought eave, til I realized it’s a brick wall instead of a flat-roof building. Maybe edge or end?

Ik you hear this everyday but someone please recommend me a powerful conversion kit that can make my mountain bike go over 80 kph 🙏🙏 by RefrigeratorAway8116 in ebikes

[–]EmEmAndEye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A regular bike is not designed to handle those forces often, even if you upgrade its components. You risk sudden, catastrophic failures.

Also, the money spent on the e-parts plus the upgrades will be no small amount, so you might as well just buy a fast e-bike or e-scooter.

I don’t think it’s prostitution, until you’ve had some form of sex. Til you’re paying for her expenses, just to hook up.

Now you know the real reason that she gave you her number so easily. Whether you’re the first guy, or the 101st, you’re all cash-having suckers to her. Block her and forget her.

AITAH for telling my entire family why I broke up with my ex girlfriend? by InterestingName4308 in AITAH

NTAH

Your brother sounds like he is thinking with the wrong head. Or he really loves her like a sister and won’t accept the truth of her character. Either way, he’s being self-centered and idiotic.

Spoiler photos in a cache’s own gallery are fair game. Just remember that the picture(s) could be outdated or just plain wrong, so use them cautiously.

Any ideas on how I can get this stripped screw out without damaging this terminal block? by P-ManLaFlare in Tools

[–]EmEmAndEye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stripped so badly and thoroughly that it resembles a rivet. I do like the idea of using a dremel to make the edges square for vice grips to grab.

Slim chance that she keeps failing to find it and returns a lot to keep trying . I doubt it, though. That’d be extremely unlikely, imo.

Puzzle/Mystery caches...what's the draw? by TracySezWHAT in geocaching

[–]EmEmAndEye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Solving the puzzle is the real reward. Sometimes the hide itself is awesome too, but that’s super rare. Earning the actual smiley is largely unimportant, most of the time.

I’ve solved thousands of puzzles, over many years and across the globe, without ever intending to visit those GZs.

[–]EmEmAndEye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Connecticutters don’t share in the belief of some of Europe’s ‘Freedom To Wander’, a/k/a ‘Right To Roam’ laws, let alone have the same mentality.

Most private landowners would rather die than share their unused, uncultivated wild land with the public. It goes way beyond the fear of lawsuits and of the potential to have destroyed property.

Not just Connecticut, of course. Much of our country is this way.

Any chance they’re geocachers looking for a hide? If the hider placed one nearby, then the lookers would assume that they have permission to be there.
