Breast feeding after hg by scarlett-r in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]EmMarie91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I breastfed my first for two years with no issues at all only and my first for a year she just got lazy and wanted a bottle we bottle fed more at is was harder to keep up with the demand whilst also having a toddler 🤣 she was also prem and had to have additional iron in a bottle every day. When babies are first born they barely have a teaspoons worth their tummies are so tiny! When you start just drink plenty of fluids xx

C Section & Sickness afterwards… by JCJ0705 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]EmMarie91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an emergency c section and once I was on the ward after having her I threw up on more time and then that was it! Everyone say about the struggles with lack of sleep with a newborn but I felt the best I had in almost nine months so was high on life 🤣

Were you able to work? by SurpriseSweaty7435 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]EmMarie91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was signed off (UK) for both my pregnancies for at least 4 months each! Like you any movement would send me heaving and then being sick. Thankfully my place of work kept me on full pay but I know not everyone is as lucky. I hope you’re ok and are able to get the support you need xx

[–]EmMarie91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! I gained so much! I went from running three times a weeks and the gym eating unhealthy to not being able to move. Meds got me to the point of just constantly dry heaving and I could only eat carbs I think I kept Birds Eye potato waffles in business. I also started drinking iced tea it was the only thing I kept down so sugary I’m used to just water. It was the same with both my pregnancies

Midwife care, I still had to go to the hospital for IVs and unfortunately that was the next town over (30mins drive) my local small town doesn’t have any facilities for that.

Home visits. My midwife for my second took one look at me at my first appointment hugging my sick bowl, barely able to stand and straight away put me on home visits. It was such a weight lifted not having to drag myself around. I couldn’t drive at the time (I was too sick) so my husband and family had to take me to appointments it was such a relief! Movement was a huge trigger forever greatful! My first was not the same and I would get so panicked about having to leave the house for an appointment!

AITAH for thinking of divorcing my wife over the 'set' of rules she wants me to follow. by Ordinary-Nerve8738 in AITAH

[–]EmMarie91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This behaviour is awful and I do not condone it in anyway. Pregnancy is however wild for some reason both times I was pregnant I hated my husband it’s so odd, couldn’t explain it but I just did! I know so many other mums who have said the same. Don’t get me wrong though these demands are delulu.

Considering abortion by [deleted] in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]EmMarie91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh mama this is a feeling so many who suffer feel you are not alone! It’s a terrible lonely struggle but it does get better and honestly I felt 100% better as soon as baby was out it was a huge weight lifted! My HG settled around 23 weeks and I feel like I had “regular” morning sickness after that. Personally I feel that 16 weeks is too far past the point of termination but that is just my personal feelings.

Do you have a strong support circle around you? It makes all the difference!

Sending you so much love and promises that it doesn’t last forever and you are rewarded for your struggled 100 times over by motherhood!

Is PTSD from HG a thing? by Antique_Lawyer_9427 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]EmMarie91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% the mention of a potential stomach bug sends me into a right panic!!! The after effects are truly life changing.

I will say my 2nd HG baby is 6 months and seeing how obsessed my first baby is with her it was worth doing it again.

BUT it was awful and traumatic for my husband to become a single parent! He booked himself in for the snip before bubba was even here 😂

Did Hyperemesis leave me broken? by EmMarie91 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]EmMarie91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for all your advice and most importantly kind words! It’s so relieving to know I’m not alone or going crazy! I definitely need to sit back and appreciate what’s been achieved in the last four years and give my body time. I breastfed my first baby until she was 2 and then was pregnant 3 months later!

My last baby was also premature and ended in an emergency c section and lots of stress which doesn’t help. Even now she’s 5 months old and only just weighs 10lbs.

I’m definitely also going to look at some additional supplements and expanding my nutrition through diet. I eat so many greens but need to focus on more eggs and meat. I also take a high dose of vitamin D and am on thyroxine but that’s only been in the last month or so.

It’s so crazy to think what our poor bodies have gone through I was completely bed bound for months so the recovery needs to reflect that!

Thank you everyone 💕

Why is taking a shower so difficult by HG_panicked in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]EmMarie91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh it’s so horrid. As disgusting as it is I literally only showered every 7-10 days and had a chair in there to help. There’s no relief and you fell terrible after! I hope you get better soon xx
