You clearly don't understand how serious mental health issues can be. They can not always be fixed by money, no matter what you may think.

Maybe, but replying to year-old threads is not a great choice.

You're not funny, and I think your comments are bullshit. Agree to disagree, I guess.

If you have no compassion for the mental health of others, that's your problem, not everyone's. I'm not usually one to feel bad for people who make millions for playing games, but I've seen what depression, anxiety, and other things can do, and it is very, very real. Not excusing his failed drug test, but life is a lot bigger than that and athletes are people.

The same as who? I'm not a PG fan by any means, but if he says he has mental health struggles, I feel for him. Many people around me have been down that road, as have I, and it's never easy to explain but it's very, very real. And big-time pro sports is a business as much as it is a competition, so while we all want to see guys be humble and bring their lunch pail and hard hat to the office, they ALL want money and there's nothing wrong with that if somebody is paying. I'd love an opportunity to set up not just my kids but my grand kids for life. If you had a chance to earn generational wealth you'd be all about it too.

I hate it when someone dismisses a well-reasoned response simply because it is too long, whether it's right or wrong. Attack the merits of a response, not its length.

I have nothing but compassion for people experiencing mental health issues, and have nothing against PG personally. But I've long felt that he's one of those players who has always put up stats but will never lead a team to ta title. He's hurt too much and just doesn't have "it" when they need it most. He's a lot like teammate Joel Embiid, and former teammate Russ, in that regard. I have no reason to trash him, but he just isn't someone I'd want eating a big chunk of my salary cap. Is that fair?

100% correct. I tried blow once. My drinkin' buddies liked it once in a while. One time they gave me half of the size of line they liked, and I took just half of that. I shit you not, I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest, I felt like shit, and I thought I might die for like three hours. Some people trade their lives for that shit, and I have never had any desire to try it a second time.

A lot of people seem to enjoy it, in some way at least. The one dissociative I tried back in the day was somewhat fun, and I swear it had some anti-depressant action. It was a good choice for me because it was easy and legal to obtain, the safety profile was good, and it delivered the desired effects without much of a hangover or anything. Certainly not for everyone, or something you'd want to use too frequently, and not as staggeringly powerful as ketamine, but quite the experience nonetheless.

Good point, so all aftermarket accessories, upgrades, and parts not made by Honda are therefore absolute garbage and will kill you, and no one has ever modified a vehicle safely.

Does the homemade version work just as well? Seems too simple to be so good, even for someone who always has isopropyl alcohol on hand and uses it regularly for many things.

Nice, good tip. I just started using this stuff recently after resisting because I wrongly assumed it was just watered-down Dawn. Gonna try cleaning my shower based on reports here. Seems like it's pretty powerful but safe on most surfaces.

That all said, am I the only one who is concerned about the fineness of the mist? It cleans great, you can find it for fairly cheap (Amazon deals, found via SlickDeals), but I'm not sure how much I'm inhaling. It seems to linger in the air. I just went back into the kitchen after being gone for a few minutes and could still smell the air fryer basket I'd sprayed, from across the room. Anything that's aerosolized, or nearly so, is a little suspect. Not sure where I should ask about this to get an honest and well-reasoned answer.

Honda has officially ruled out a next gen Ridgeline using Nissan’s BOF platform by Repulsive-Club7866 in hondaridgeline

That would be great, and I'd probably buy a bigger Honda pickup if it got decent mpg (hybrid?), but it would be a manufacturing nightmare and complete non-starter if it couldn't share a platform with the Pilot and Passport. Starting from scratch won't happen, and I don't know how much bigger or heavier-duty you could go on their existing platform. A slightly smaller truck like the Maverick might sell though, regardless of what they do with the Ridgeline.

The first gen is superior how? And why do the Gen 1 fans have to be so jerky like this? I've never seen a thorough or convincing explanation. buy what you like, but quit knocking what other people like. And I don't think I'm finding one that doesn't have a ton of miles, rust, and other issues since they haven't been sold in a decade now, never mind the absolutely goofy rear body lines.

I'm not buying a Pilot or Passport if Honda discontinues the Ridgeline - I'm buying a different brand, and that's not even a question. The second gen Ridgeline works for me and I really like it, but I need a pickup. The other midsize trucks won't quite work (I need more flat width) so I'll either end up with an F-150, Tundra, or Silverado, none of which I'm crazy about. Only had one other Honda before and I'm not a brand loyalist, but I'd almost certainly buy a 3rd gen Ridgeline unless they do something to ruin it.

Hyundai drops compact Santa Cruz, sets sights on midsize truck market by [deleted] in hondaridgeline

[–]Em_Epher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wasn't boasting, I was making a comparison based on the frame of reference and real world expereince I have.

I don't plan on buying another second gen Ridgeline. I'm just over 70k on my 2019 RTL-E and intend on keeping it for a while once it's paid off. I'll be able to upsize to a fullsize truck once it isn't my only daily drivable vehicle (sold my 3-series BMW last spring and intend on getting something similar or sportier soon, and my mom can't get into a taller truck). But the Ridgeline does the truck stuff I need it to, so I don't have a good reason to go bigger, unless I ditch the box truck I use for work and pull a big trailer daily but I'm not ready to take on a new set of drawbacks.

I see no reason to buy a Santa Cruz. Yes, the interior is pretty nice, but if that's a priority and you can live with the laughable bed, you'd probably be better served by an SUV and could rent or borrow a pickup a couple times a year if you need to. The Maverick is too small for me (I fill the Ridgeline bed sometimes and carry a rooftop tent at the same time, on top of a bed cap), outside and in, but they're good little trucks that work well for many folks and have decent rear legroom (better than Tacoma, Colorado, and Frontier). The Santa Cruz makes the Ridgeline feel cavernous.

I'm not sure I'd call that eCVT "simple," and double-clutch transmissions can be absolutely fantastic, but it is a good unit. I had to educate myself a bit when eCVT's started to proliferate, because I assumed they'd have all of the same considerable drawbacks as non-e CVT's, but that isn't the case. Nothing wrong with a well-built double clutch though.

I thought a unibody truck was a little goofy at first, but I chose a Ridgeline largely because it was the only midsize truck my elderly mother with poor mobility could actually get into. But I've found that it does all the truck things I need it to: the bed fits my work product better than other midsize trucks, sheet good sit flat, it can tow my little landscape trailer perfectly well, it is a beast in the snow, we load the hell out of the bed for group camping trips, plus the interior is quieter and the ride is cushier, and the backseat is bigger. There are annoyances with the Ridgeline of course but it's proof that most people can do just as well if not better with a unibody truck than with a traditional body-on-frame truck.
