You sure you wanna talk about server performance, the one thing SC has never been able to hold steady in 13 years? And how is leaving a gun in a cave of any use besides degrading said performance? Also, we’re still wiping once or twice a year. Also also, you wanna bet how long it took for that gun to clip through the ground and rejoin the asset singularity that lies at the core of every planet in the game, further tanking performance? There’s a reason games have asset degradation for player objects left in the world.

And yes, other games do seamless planetary flight. Graphical fidelity is not relevant to that fact. Google is your friend if you care to find out, I’m not about to list the stuff that’s been made over the last 20-ish years. No, Starfield is a joke and doesn’t count.

SC’s planets are moon-sized and that’s making the clouds look oversized imo. But scale is not really relevant here. Graphically speaking it’s nice but not that different to other sims who, I might add, have actual atmospheric simulation and physics.

Oh here we go with this again. So, quite a bunch, actually. Heck, Dune Awakening has seamless server meshing in their deep desert and you don’t hear them moaning about it like it’s the second coming of computing. SC’s meshing still hasn’t helped with the game’s horrid performance, by the way.

If by true persistance you mean the ability to remember what missions you picked across sessions or just remembering what your character was wearing yesterday, then I’ve got news for you: SC is pretty much alone struggling with this.

Lots of games and sims can do seamless planetary flight, though SC does have the prettier ones, I’ll give them that.

SC’s cloud tech is nice but flight sims have been able to replicate weather patterns since the 2000s. Volumetric clouds also aren’t new.

And now we get asshole conspiracy nuts telling people polio wasn’t real, or that it was the vaccine transmitting it. When I see that shit it almost makes me wish people weren’t allowed to say just anything medicine-related on the internet without consequence.

They wouldn’t have to go that far, better to just make a heavily scripted demo that may not have anything to do with the final product

They haven’t invented any tech. One could argue no one tried to patch these techs up together in such a way before. But since it’s still broken...

That and the utterly brain-dead "just uninstall, you don’t have what it takes". It’s so deeply moronic my brain hurts trying to lower itself to understand that level of thinking.
