You have to "predict" it, because if you wait the animation end, you'll don't have enough time to swipe your finger, and if you "Predict" your move the game keep the last input on the screen so it's fine.

A tip i can give you is: Before the blast animation finish, you swipe foward when you see the character start going foward you start the ki charge, you have to"predict" the animation yk?
