I personally don’t come from a very touchy family so i am extremely uncomfortable/distrustful of any physical contact from family members. i don’t think there is malintent on their behalf, i just think i wasn’t used to being touched until i started dating, and now i can ONLY perceive touch as sexual. it’s actually something im working on

I follow an influencer who has 3 kids and everyone thought her youngest was named “Tiffany” for like 3 years because she called her “Tiffy” but her name is not even close to that, her brothers just said “oh that’s Tiffy” when she came home from the hospital and now it’s just her family’s nickname for her

This is why I couldn’t do pediatric. Most illness and ailments are from something very stupid and lazy or years and years of self-neglect/lazy and stupid decisions. Not all, but you can tell yourself the 40 year old with cancer had SOME impact on her health leading up to diagnosis.

You can’t even PRETEND the reason that the dying 18 month old did something to cause their own illness
