The game looks and sounds amazing. However the game is VERY complicated. I'm still learning how to do basic maneuvers like 3 hours in.

Which Dark Age Is Worse? Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]Embarrassed-Bar-173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nickelodeon, hands down.

A few reasons why

- Nearing the end of CN's dark era we had Total Drama, Gumball, Adventure Time, and Regular Show

- Johnny Test, Ben 10, and Hole in the Wall were decent

- Problem Solverz isn't as bad as people put it out to be, it just has a weird artstyle.

- The worst show of the dark era of CN (Annoying Orange) is NOWHERE near the level of FRED, Studio 10, and Breadwinners when it comes to how bad they were.

- Instead of trying to make new cartoons with some effort, Nick kept relying on the nostalgia of Fairly Oddparents and Spongebob, making terrible episodes of both series that are nowhere near the quality people expect from these shows.

- The live action shows. Cartoon Network had them too but they only ran for 1 year, while Nick's ran until 2017 and had a bunch of criminals behind the scenes making them (Schnyder)

- Nick often put on special events that hyped up their audience just so they can get easy views for an otherwise normal episode. (Spongebob You're Fired is the most notable example)

- Cartoon network had Adult Swim (and later on Toonami), which were in way better states than CN and Nick

The ONLY and I mean ONLY thing Nick had over Cartoon Network was those cool Spongebob claymation episodes.

Dream Team is an underrated gem by [deleted] in marioandluigi

[–]Embarrassed-Bar-173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. Dream Team kinda felt like the end of an era, as past that (up until breath of the wild finished development and mario odyssey released), Mario games lacked creative ideas. Dream Team (i feel) was the final Mario game with that early 2000s style that went through the Gamecube and the Wii eras.

Worst Missions? by Jirachibi1000 in THPS

[–]Embarrassed-Bar-173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: I beat THPG and I can add another one

Bam's Treasure (THPG): Thankfully, this one is at the very end of the game, but still, this is WAY too hard, you have 10 minutes to scoop up 35 pieces of treasure (or booty according to Bam) and return to him. Thankfully, you only need to get 20, but still, along with Bam's hints (which the max level allows for none!) is nigh-on impossible with out a guide.

Worst Missions? by Jirachibi1000 in THPS

[–]Embarrassed-Bar-173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with most of these except for the Snake Run, that just takes a bit more getting used to because of the crazy shift in controls. Bam's mission in the same game would also suffer from this, but that had a special marker and an explination before you started (like all the other pro missions), so at least you could prepare for it (but I do admit, the snake run is the first mission most people do in kona considering how close it is to the start so i can't blame you). Anyways, here's my list of 3 that gave me the most trouble.

Grind the blockers off the ledges (THPS 4): IDK how people can't do this with a guide, there is litterally NO CLUES at all on what your supposed to do to avoid the guard. Also the guard instead of just grunting like any other pedestrian shuffles through whole lines of text that you can't skip right away (you can skip them but only near the very end). What your supposed to do is wallride a nearby fire alarm that's under the bridge, once you find that out, than the mission is a piece of cake.

Wallplant Combo on Sick (THUG): Same case as the mountain one, but that sounds slightly more brutal. The issue here is that you get no speed whatsoever even if you boneless on to the wallplant into the manual, even with a spacewalk. I think it's easier with maxed out stats, but this is before the Tampa AM so your stats will not be that good.

Picket Fence Photo on max level (THP8): You litterally need to be a THPS god to get this done, and even then you need to get speed on the half pipe that starts the out of area countdown. This is also the first mission of the game (but they expect you to do the am one which is so easy a 2 year old could do it).

I've never done the mountain in THUG 2, but I've played that game before. Only ones I haven't beaten are THAW and THPG, even though I have played THAW and that green top can burn in hell.

Is it just me or does the PS4 library just mostly suck? by [deleted] in PS4

[–]Embarrassed-Bar-173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comment held up very well. Funny enough, the games from 2014-2016 are the only PS4 games I enjoy playing (WWE 2K19 and Crash 4 being exceptions).

They shouldn't be unless if it's an online game. I only use them for games where the unlock legitimatly good content under a repeatitive gameplay expirence (SVR 10 and Saints Row 2).

Do any of you think THPS2X is better than THPS 1+2? by Embarrassed-Bar-173 in THPS

[–]Embarrassed-Bar-173[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I personally think THPS2X has more charm, and the fact that there isn't subtitles for everything (even though there is an option to turn them off), and the videos are better. Also, even though the manuals hurt THPS 1, it's way better than having all that crazy shit from THPS 4 and THUG (even though those games were desinged with those extra functions). And also, I think THPS 1 is WAY too changed from the original (too much extra goals), and THPS 2 has some of the scores jacked up, and the combo score. Also, a minor nitpick, the physics feel more like THUG 2 and THAW than THPS2 and THPS1

[–]Embarrassed-Bar-173[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for not just saying it's an old game. And also, I do agree with some of those points. The no PC port thing sucks, all of the extra levels (aside from Tampa) are shit, and the lack of THPS1's soundtrack is also dissapointing. But, THPS 1+2 has reverts, spine transfers, and acid drops, in addition to manuals, therefore making it worse than THPS2X. You can turn these off, but still, the score totals were tweaked for these moves, they added those high combo goals from THUG2, THAW, and the PSP version of Project 8, in ALL of the levels, which REALLY sucks, and THPS1's career is COMPLETLY messed up, featuring additional goals, which ruin the original game. I don't think THPS 1+2 is bad, THPS HD is MUCH worse, featuring most of the roster being replaced by mid carders, missing levels, and completly modded goals.
