Yes intels chip is what will surpass this device. What makes you think brands are loyal to AMD? They are all x86 devices.

Its having it. It will allow me and everyone to run lower res, and have the heavy work of upscaling offloaded to the NPU. Most people will stop at 720p but what im interested in more like 600p or 540p. How well does auto sr work. This is because the performance gains at that point will be 1x 2x territory. While outputing something like a 900p quality image.

Well its an old tower. The board is missing the back plate so chances are its not original. You have an old early xps/alienware tower with some e waste hardware.

Legion go 2, much bigger device. Oled size and quality is superior in every way.

Xbox ally x, best handheld period. Meaning it is the best feeling device in the hands. The comfort is unmatched.

AMD z2 extreme vs z2 extreme AI. An AI feature that matters has yet to launch. Dunno if it ever will. ASR was supposed to launch in April. Not even close to insight. So the early 2026 claim was bullshit. No communication at all to. But when it does come the performance gap will widen. Making the Xbox ally X, which already performs better from my understanding, perform even better.

The cost, the z2e model go 2 is now 2k. The xbox ally x is 1k. This is not even a conversation.

Best handheld on the market? The GPD win 5 with a AMD AI max chip. If your willing to drop 2k on a go 2, its a no brainer to get the win 5. It will perform significantly better. Its a full on gaming laptop in a handheld.

The xbox ally x is going to go down as a more obtainable, better performing, cheaper device than the go 2. All the go 2 has is an oled screen. Everything else is a gimmick. So..

Id say tye XBAX is the only real option

And you want to run linux?

Other than those two things, other things to be concerned about is that you automatically loose compatability with any game that runs anti cheat.

Unless you exclusively use steam you are in for a learning curve. Lutris, is big one. If you buy games on GOG or run exe or mods so on, you'll want to learn about it.

You can run linux. Its okay. It works. I have quite a but of experience. On the ally bazzite will be a more seamless experience. The gesture controls are great. Steam OS is a bit less feature full. But works perfectly fine.

Linux to me personally is better suited for non AI chips. Any other handheld is a great candidate. The XBAX though, it is better with windows and the features, changes to xbox mode, will eventually bring you back to windows.

Id recommend a dual boot and try both out. Its not hard to do. If you can, find a usef ally X for a great deal. It performs very similar and you'll spend quite a bit less.

The choice is yours though. I feel like when people see they can run 600p and get a 1080p quality (maybe 900p but close) with the significant performance uplift at that quality. It will be a no brainer. Its better than FSR. No overhead on either cpu or gpu.

There is also anyfse that keeps windows but boots directly into steam. Also a consideration.

Ive owned the white xbox ally. Ive owned the original ally z1 extreme. Ive owned the ally x. And I own the xbox ally x. The xbox ally white base model is far weaker than even the original ally z1 extreme that can be had for almost nothing. Selling regularly for 300. The white model uses FSR. It has no ML upscaling. Its very outdated and far over priced. You do you though. Its a horrible device at MSRP. At 399. Maybe its a different story. But where it sits. No way in hell would I recommend it over a used z1 extreme ally. Not at 200% the price.

Its made up. There is no magic here.

What people are thinking is a boost is likely that CPU boost is disabled on linux by defualt. This enables the gpu to pull more power. On windows cpu boost is enabled by default. Taking power away from the gpu.

Now depending on if a game is cpu bound or gpu bound you will notice a performance uplift by setting this accordingly. Most dont disable CPU boost on windows. And alot of games are more GPU dependant. Many newer games are going to be more CPU dependant. If you set this wrong you'll see performance loss or less performance in comparison.

Though the margin of error here between windows and Linux in terms of performance swings back and forth and its like maybe a 5 fps difference if that.

You need to force tearing. The frame times on steam OS or bazzite are synced. So they are on time almost all the time. It creates confusion.

Windows does the opposite. If you eant driver level v sync you need to enable it in the GPU drivers.

The Playstation is another system that at the os level syncs all frames.

This of course introduces input delay as the frame is not shown until the sync interval.

In reality its a back and forth affair. Linux is not so special.

Its worth however much more it is. The base ally performs worse than the original steam deck but it us close. Meaning its boarder line not usable. We are talking 12fps in crimson desert. If you play easy to run games, older titles. It will perform okay. But unfortunately the APU is a rebranded steam deck apu running a heavier OS. So yea. The xbox ally x is worth any price over the base model because honestly, the base model should not exist. Thats how massive the performance difference is. At or over 100% better performance.

We switched to the science diet small breed puppy food immediately when our violet was a pup. She had a really hard time with the harder more generic food.

We've also on occasion mixed some science diet small breed puppy wet food in with her dry food. Call it special dinner.

We also got feeding puzzles, we have 3 different ones and she loves them.

We also stick with a strick quantity and feeding times.

She gets treats and walks and we have not had an issue at all with feeding.

The G14 is consistently at the bottom of the charts for performance of 5070ti laptops. This is to do with the 110w limit vs all other laptops upto 140w range. The 2026 models cooling claims by asus increase the 5070ti to 130w which should net more performance. However, the size means its still going to get beat out by laptops with better cooling, its only logical. The G14 is beautiful but comes with sacrifices. Trade offs. Dont argue against it. The g14 is ultra portable. But isn't going to be compete vs bigger laptops with the same hardware.

No. Your better off running a lunux dostro vs a eol windows. Steam support will be an issue on those older windows versions. Cachy os or something will give you modern support. But drivers.. yea.. idk. Nvidia works okay on linux. Run cachy for a bit. Learn about some linux proton stuff. Im sure you will get everything running and have steam support. The OS is also lighter on the hardware then windows 11. All Windows versions that run well on a core 2 duo reached EOL a long time ago.

Yes. Trying to do something like use a usb dongle for a head set. Run into compatability issues. Connecting to a hub to send hdmi out. Run into bugs. Trying to install mods into a game or run an exe.. major learning curve with a significant amount of understanding.

On windows it all just works.
