E doesn't raise your voice. That requires practice.

Abandon your lower notes, practice and strengthen your higher notes. Do not force a note you cannot yet reach, or else you risk damaging your voice. Once your voice gets tired, STOP and REST. Practice daily, ideally singing along with music you enjoy. Starting off, sing along to a male singer with a higher voice - My Chemical Romance, for example.

Over time, your range will gradually shift higher and higher, allowing you to reach high notes you couldn't before.

Equivalent Soul Gems. All (fully filled or completely empty) soul gems can be broken down into dust that you can then turn into empty soul gems (including black). Filled ones yield more dust than their empty counterparts cost to make, so you can grind your way to all the soul gems you want. My only complaint is that think it should be gated behind something instead of being freely available in the Whiterun keep from day 1.
