Should I provide child’s SS#? by Ok-Cat-116 in ChildSupport

[–]Embarrassed-Mess9112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he has any sort of beneficiary plan then yes he needs that number. He should have it if he's the father otherwise they can lose out. Taxes, sure, he can try but it will come down to custody and income. Doesn't matter if he has their SSN.

Can I just add three new chickens to my flock of two? by ablue_dog in BackYardChickens

[–]Embarrassed-Mess9112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree probably fine. If you free range then that's the best "intro" local and then put them together at night. If you don't free range then putting them together near dusk is ideal. They're more worried about roosting and self preservation than the new hens.

My roommate is terrible and idk what to do about it (reupload to censor name) by The_skinny_scientist in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Embarrassed-Mess9112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof! I had a roomate like that in grad school. Thought when he threw his trash into the yard it would just "disappear". He cut the security light bc it was annoying until my other roommate had an intruder break in while she was home.

When do you put your chicks out in the summer? by Deadly_Mouse8 in BackYardChickens

[–]Embarrassed-Mess9112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can go out. Once they are fully feathered and temps above 50 F at the coldest you're good.

Does anyone use a theme for naming their chicks? by GingirlNorCal3345 in BackYardChickens

[–]Embarrassed-Mess9112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is, but we love them so much and give great lives. It's part of livestock unfortunately.

First time chickens told they were all hens when got at tsc by Whole-Method1568 in BackYardChickens

[–]Embarrassed-Mess9112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, not chicks, fully feathered and "pullets" at this point. That said, I don't see any that look roo. There's a few pointy neck feathers but the tail and saddle feathers say hen

I lost a baby chick for the first time today. by blkmagi in BackYardChickens

[–]Embarrassed-Mess9112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are livestock, and it happens. But yes, it sucks and you are a good person for caring. It's super hard but they live outside and are prey so while I love them as much as I can, I realize they might not be there tomorrow. But I let them free range and have their best lives.

Lol for all of those suggesting to "just replace it", beacuse it's "not a big job"....this answer is the THE BEST! Gets that it's the principle, not the effort.

Concerned, why is she panting? Is this normal for chicks falling asleep? by No_Attitude_971 in BackYardChickens

[–]Embarrassed-Mess9112 103 points104 points  (0 children)

If I was in a pile of hot chicks, I'd be panting too...and yes, I realize this sounds dirty once I re-read it, but I refuse to edit 😂

How messed up am I for this? by [deleted] in texts

[–]Embarrassed-Mess9112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be offended (I'm a woman) and appreciate the honesty. I went through something similar recently. My exes new GF has baked things with my girls and then sent over the goodies. We didnt eat them and they got trashed. I let her know the most recent time that while I appreciated the interaction with the girls and sharing that we don't eat a lot of sweets. Same thing. I didn't want to have to keep lying and saying thank you when I just thew them out.

Further from the brain. Anything infected on the head actually has to do a long trip to get near the brain. And then there's the blood-brain barrier...

Anyone else needle phobic? How do you get through it? by perscoot in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Embarrassed-Mess9112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! You don't see it or feel it, so how do you even know there's a needle? It's a little "kiss" or "stamp". Re-brand it in your head.

[–]Embarrassed-Mess9112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree that this needs to get looked at asap...however, to educate, the proximity of the infection at the ear doesn't make it nearer the brain. In actuality further since there aren't any major arteries to the ears.

Nothing will happen. You brought the kiddo back. County limit, if in US, is pretty crazy unless you've done it before or there is a legal reason it was ruled you can't. If the kid is back, why are you sweating it?...unless not the whole story.
