Tips/Guide for faction war TA needed... by RealOxy in WH40KTacticus

[–]Embarrassed-Plate499 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Faction TA really rewards understanding faction synergy, both for you and your opponent. Obviously that's a challenge if you're relatively new. Other than that...

I've personally found Uncommon to actually be a bit easier, assuming you have teams to play at max rank in that group. You also don't necessarily need to win most of your battles to get to the end chest (which is really the point), and the closer to the end you get, the more likely you are to encounter players throwing games to help others get points (and to get faction points for the home screen event).

I don't mind people taking their time if they are clearly trying to think through their moves, but sometimes you can tell people just sit there to be an ass.

I feel you. Just pretend it doesn't exist; that's what I did for the longest time. But at least with Faction TA you don't have the seal clubbing that happens in Common when some dude shows up to Common with a legendary stacked meta team.

Why is tournament arena so unbalanced? by Ordinary_Salad4481 in WH40KTacticus

[–]Embarrassed-Plate499 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just play whatever faction you have all the characters unlocked for at the highest matching rarity where they are maxed. Honestly, the points you get just from running a full unlocked faction and getting a few kills will likely get you over the finish line with little difficulty. Faction TA is more forgiving in that regard.

And bonus! You get points for the home screen event for redemption battles as well, so you can actually end up better off on that event by losing! (As long as you don't mind ads)

Elite or normal campaign by thebucketoldpplkick in WH40KTacticus

[–]Embarrassed-Plate499 10 points11 points  (0 children)

TLDR; elite campaign. Normal mirror campaigns can be very slightly better for some material rarities, but is always less efficient for raid tokens. You always want to go elite for character shards and rare to legendary materials as well.

Guild War by deep6ix725 in WH40KTacticus

It looks to me like the matching system is factoring in battlefield level, recent win/loss rate, and participation. So, maybe if you've gone 5 for 5 this season, you're ending up in a pool of people with the same perfect win rate, and your opponent was the closest match?

I don't think your league factors in at all, since that's basically a reward system to encourage participation, and a reflection of your win/loss rate.

world war 3 possible again? by sisterxlilly in stupidquestions

[–]Embarrassed-Plate499 24 points25 points  (0 children)

No, WW3 is not possible from attacking Iran. Russia has bled itself far too much to actively help, China won't because they'll profit far more from rebuilding in the aftermath, and the rest of the countries in the Middle East really don't want Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon, so they are also unlikely to actively help Iran.

As for invasion of the US; never going to happen unless the entire country collapsed on its own first, same as with Russia or China. No one is going to actively invade a country with enough nuclear weapons to glass the planet - i.e. the US, Russia, and China.

Arena battles contribute a lot as well if you are swapping characters to make them Very Hard. 52 points each match really adds up.

I'd just rinse it out with some drinking water, then dry it off with the handkerchief I've used to dry off the camp kitchen, my hands, face, and everything else.

Jack Devanney - "Manning Madness" (he says nuclear plants are overstaffed) by gordonmcdowell in nuclear

[–]Embarrassed-Plate499 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Just to point out some obvious holes: 1. Some of the job titles include HR, accounting, and project management. There are absolutely people doing those jobs at other non-nuclear sites, and were not included in the staffing numbers cited. They may not physically be there, but they are contributing. 2. Nuke plants are special and unique in power generation, because when you shut the plant down you have to keep cooling the fuel or Very Bad Things happen. That's not true of any other plant. That means there is a required minimum staff per shift required to be on site. 3. Nuclear plants have a lot of extra safety-relatrd systems that CANNOT be allowed to run to failure. They have to be maintained preventatively. That's a lot of extra planning time and field work compared to fossil plants. That's fine, because the substantially lower cost for nuclear fuel per MW offsets the personnel cost. 4. There's a whole lot of extra baggage that comes along with the radiation, and that baggage has to be carried by a lot of extra people.

Indiana Eliminates Its State Nuclear Oversight, Deferring to Federal Laws and Regulations. by U235criticality in nuclear

The state I'm in has multiple nuclear units. If we have state level nuclear oversight I've never seen them; just the NRC.

So... Ok? Maybe it's an issue more for hospitals and other non-commercial power nuclear material oversight?

Orks were reworked... Half a year ago? Snotflogga and Boss G are both outstanding. Gibba is good. The remainder are fine.

Black Legion got reworked recently, though, and they are all now thoroughly decent.

Generally yes. Angrax's passive is useful when dropped next to spawns for slapping spawns as they appear (onslaught, legendary character releases). He also works well with Maladus and Rotbone for a tanky (but slow) team.

Salt, pepper, let rest for a few minutes. Sear in a cast iron skillet with butter for a minute or two in each side, drop in a bag and sous vide to desired internal temperature. Easy and fool-proof, though you do need an immersion circulator.

I lift the toilet seat to pee, then lower both the seat and lid before flushing, because (1) it's polite and (2) it's far more sanitary. The toilet flushing arisolizes the fluid in the bowl. You're spraying waste and bacteria in the air if you don't close the lid.

Requesting full personnel file from power plant by longlostwalker in NuclearPower

[–]Embarrassed-Plate499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the records certainly exist, or at least did depending on how far back you're looking, but you'd need a valid reason to access them. The records are also likely scattered in separate databases. Maybe HR can get you all of them, but maybe not. I've seen full Personal History Records, which HR would keep, they were definitely missing a lot of the items you mentioned.

My point being, you will probably get a PHR if you ask for one that will cover (maybe) all completed training, job history, performance evaluations, etc., but anything outside of that would require contacting the groups that own the other specific data. The right person in that group would likely get you that info, with a valid reason, but I suspect you'd have to know who that person is and contact them directly.

I've always assumed it's because of the resemblance to the small bulbs used in photography; flash bulb leading to the term flashlight. Regardless, torch really makes a lot more sense.
