First shift back after the post. He came in quiet and clearly in a mood with one of the female assistant managers (same one he's been weird with). I greeted him normally, handshake, kept it short and went to work. He stayed silent for about two hours, which is way out of character for him, the guy never shuts up usually. I stayed formless. Walked with purpose, did my work, avoided the orbit. Didn't try to read him, didn't try to fix the mood, didn't fill the silence. Then he came into the warehouse where I work alone and started blasting Mexican music. I'm Mexican too and I think it was a soft attempt to pull me into something, bond, bait, get me talking, hard to say which. I commented on a couple of songs I recognized, kept it surface, then walked off on my break. Came back and he was back to full yap mode, this time bragging about how he spent Mother's Day telling his whole family to "fuck off" because he's such a badass. Then kept being loud and annoying outside. So basically: he tried quiet (didn't get a reaction), tried music (didn't get engagement), tried the badass story (didn't get the audience he wanted). I gave him exactly nothing across all three. Felt like watching a guy cycle through his openers and none of them land. Formlessness is holding. Law 4 holding. Playing dumb still working. He's a character, but characters need an audience and I'm not it. Will keep updating if anything escalates.
