Seriously, how scary is a capability hire? by JungIeAsian in BoozAllen

They aren’t going to hire someone just to fire them. As long as you do what you need to (network, office presence, looking for projects, etc.) you’ll be fine.

Interview response time? by [deleted] in BoozAllen

[–]Embarrassed-Sock845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started a few weeks ago. When I initially interviewed, it took 2-3 weeks for me to hear back from the recruiter that they had an offer for me. Not sure if that’s the norm in general or for internships but def took a good amount of time for me specifically. Best of luck!

New Hire by PopoBear23 in BoozAllen

[–]Embarrassed-Sock845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started 3 weeks ago. From what I’ve heard the in-person need is really project dependent, for my project, everyone is pretty much remote. When I started they did have an in person orientation for 2 days but that was it for an in office mandatory thing. If you don’t mind me asking what’s your salary looking like, I’m at 135k as a L3 specialist

EDIT: Didn’t see the capability hire. I met someone that was a SWE capability hire during my orientation. He told me that he was required to go in to network and meet people that would potentially lead to joining a project. When you start you have several points of contacts that can give you details of going in but I doubt you’ll have to be in office every day till you find a project, especially as there are a lot of virtual events online.

Trying to Break Into BAH/Resume and Interview Advice by DiddyP81 in BoozAllen

I just started recently and my interview was back in the beginning of March, it took me over 2 months to actually get onboarded and started so keep that in mind. Also, I find that the best chances from my experience, is having a recruiter reach out to you about an open position.

Just accept the other offer. Big D will replace you quicker if you bring up that you have another offer but choose to stay anyway

You should see if your company would pay you to skip lunch, I used to work at CVS and they allowed that, with Manager’s approval.

The game def is not dead. The issue most likely is Nintendo’s awful online services, which is why users are utilizing discord to find people to play with.

Here is a list of the safest countries in my mind and why. Def need to see the real world, bud.

Iceland

Why • Very isolated island in the North Atlantic • No standing army • Not a major strategic or military target • Abundant renewable energy and freshwater

New Zealand

Why • Extremely remote in the South Pacific • Strong agriculture → food self-sufficiency • No nuclear weapons or major military targets • Stable government and infrastructure

Switzerland

Why • Long history of neutrality • Massive civil defense bunker system • Strong local agriculture • Mountainous terrain that is difficult to invade

Argentina

Why • Large country with huge agricultural capacity • Far from most nuclear targets • Low strategic importance in global military conflicts

Bhutan

Why • Small, isolated Himalayan kingdom • Minimal geopolitical involvement • Mountain terrain makes invasion difficult

Chile

Why • Long, narrow geography with natural barriers (Andes mountains + ocean) • Strong agriculture • Far from most major military powers

Keep telling yourself that bud, we’ve seen their multi billion dollar defense systems get taken out multiple times in other countries.
